<p>The Washington Capitals visit the Florida Panthers on Thursday night for Game 2 of their best-of-seven series. Washington pulled off the opening night shocker and defeated Florida on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The Capitals trailed 2-1 heading into the 3rd period. They proceeded to score 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd to send Florida fans to the exits.</p>
<p>Even though he was tagged with the loss, Sergei Bobrovsky was solid. He stopped 34 of 37 shots and kept his team in the game. The top-ranked Florida offense just couldn’t answer the call in the final period, and they failed to score.</p>
<p>Tuesday marked the first time this season the the winner in this matchup was not playing in front of their home crowd. Previously, the Panthers lead the season series 2-1 and won both of their home games.</p>
<p>Florida fans shouldn’t panic after Game 1. The Panthers are still favorites to win the series, something that hasn’t happened since 1996. The Game 2 odds favor the Panthers to bounce back and have a stronger offensive performance.</p>

<p>The Florida Panthers are all too familiar with the position they are in. They have not lead a playoff series 1-0 since 1997. However, they have never been the best team in the NHL regular season either.</p>
<p>The Panthers set records this season for goals scored, but they just weren’t able to get more than 2 past Vitek Vanecek in Game 1.</p>
<p>The Florida offense doesn’t stay down for too long. This season, they have had the ability to score in large numbers and come back in games where they are down by multiple goals. </p>
<p>Just because they lost Game 1, does not mean that the series is over. With a win on Thursday night, they can reclaim home ice advantage and make the series a best-of-five for the remainder of Round 1.</p>
<p>I expect the Panthers to highlight a more offensive attack in Game 2. They sat back a lot in Game 1 and were outshot 38-32. I predict a back-and-forth game with plenty of scoring and a 1 goal victory for the Panthers.</p>
