The Toronto Maple Leafs will attempt to keep their Stanley Cup dreams alive at home when they host the Boston Bruins for Game 6 on Thursday, May 2.

The Maple Leafs staved off elimination for the first time with a 2-1 overtime win against the Bruins in Game 4. After goalless second and third periods, Matthew Knies scored the game-winning goal less than three minutes into the extra frame, helping Toronto to cut Boston’s lead down to 3-2.
Can Boston bounce back with a win tonight? Or will Toronto figure out a way to force a Game 7?
This Bruins vs. Maple Leafs betting preview will attempt to answer those questions as I go over my predictions and best NHL bets for the night.

Bruins vs Maple Leafs NHL Game 6 Predictions & Pick (5/2)
It’s almost like history is repeating itself at this point. Once again, the Bruins have seen a 3-1 lead over the Maple Leafs cut down to a one-game lead, just like in 2013 and 2018. Funny enough, each Game 6 in those series took place in Toronto just like tonight’s game.
If the Maple Leafs want to force a Game 7, they’ll likely need to follow their Game 5 template. Toronto beat Boston in both the shot total (33-28) and faceoff circle (33-20) while playing a well-disciplined game, limiting itself to just one penalty.
The Leafs also excelled at keeping some of the Bruins’ better players quiet. The trio of Pavel Zacha, Brad Marchand, and Jake DeBrusk finished Tuesday’s affair with only two shots on goal between them, which is inexcusable in an elimination game.
As for the Boston players who were able to get shots off, they had a tough time solving Justin Woll. The Toronto netminder was a brick wall last outing, turning aside 27 of the 28 shots sent his way.
The Bruins need their best players — like Brad Marchand — to provide a better effort in Game 6.
Having said that, Scotiabank Arena hasn’t provided Toronto with much of a boost. After all, the Maple Leafs have lost five of their last six home games, being outscored 24-16 along the way.
Additionally, the Maple Leafs haven’t defeated the Bruins on home ice since November 2022, losing the last five encounters at Scotiabank Arena by an average of 2.2 goals per game. Meanwhile, Boston owns an impressive 6-1 SU record in its last seven road games this season.
That’s without mentioning how the Bruins have also won 10 of their last 12 games against the Leafs overall.
But even if Boston displaying that dominance in recent years, I’m still taking Toronto to win tonight. These Atlantic Division rivals seem destined to reach seven games for the fourth time in 11 years at this point. The Maple Leafs should be able to parlay their latest momentum into a home victory, especially if the Bruins continue to lack a sense of urgency.
Taking Toronto to win outright before these archenemies meet in Boston on Saturday.

Best Bruins vs Maple Leafs NHL Game 6 Player Prop (5/2)
With Auston Matthews potentially missing Game 6 with an illness, I’m looking at William Nylander to step up and hit the Over on his 3.5-shot total (-102).
Nylander has played well since making his series debut in Game 4, registering eight shots on goal in two games. The Swedish forward is now averaging exactly 4.0 SOG in his last six games dating back to the regular season, finishing with the Over on this prop in four of those outings.
Additionally, the Over is also 5-3 in Nylander’s last eight home games. With the Maple Leafs being desperate to stay alive, look for the 28-year-old to do everything in his power to generate offense.
Best Bruins vs Maple Leafs Prop Bet: William Nylander o3.5 Shots on Goal (-102)
