More football action is on the way with the 2023 NFL Week 2 slate beginning in two days. One of this week's biggest matchups pits the Seattle Seahawks head-to-head against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon.
#Lions HC Dan Campbell expects Sunday's home opener vs. the Seahawks to be louder than Arrowhead Stadium.

Seattle and Detroit opened the new season with opposite experiences. While the Seahawks suffered a 30-13 drubbing at the hands of the rival LA Rams, the Lions shocked the world with a huge 21-20 victory over the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Can the Seahawks bounce back to avoid a 0-2 hole? Or will the Lions give their fans something to cheer about at the home opener?

Seahawks vs Lions Week 2 Game Preview
There's no doubt that the Seahawks need more of a complete effort if they hope to beat the Lions this weekend.
In the first half against LA, Seattle looked like the team that impressed the football world in 2022, leading 13-7 at halftime. Unfortunately, Pete Carroll's team completely took its foot off the gas in the second half, getting outscored 23-0 in the final two frames.
To put things into perspective, this is what the Seahawks' five second-half drives looked like:
- Drive #1: three plays, 5 yards — PUNT
- Drive #2: four plays, 10 yards — PUNT
- Drive #3: three plays, 2 yards — PUNT
- Drive #4: three plays, minus-24 yards — PUNT
- Drive #5: one play, 9 yards — END OF GAME
For those keeping track of the math there, the Seahawks finished with zero yards on 14 plays in the second half. There just aren't any positives there, regardless of how you slice it.

Meanwhile, the Lions' attack looked great against the Kansas City Chiefs, racking up 368 total yards with an impressive average of 5.3 yards per play.
QB Jared Goff was solid in the pocket going head-to-head with Patrick Mahomes, completing 62.9% of passes for 253 yards and a touchdown. Second-year WR Amon-Rat St. Brown was the main beneficiary, catching six balls for 71 yards and a TD while fellow wideout Josh Reynolds racked up 80 receiving yards on his four-catch day.
Considering how the Seahawks allowed the second-most passing yards in Week 1 (334), there's a good chance that the Lions can do more damage through the air come Sunday.
And while Seattle only gave up 92 rushing yards last week, the team still allowed three TDs to the Rams' backfield. Detroit's David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for 116 rushing yards and a TD on 28 carries last week, so expect the Lions to look to the duo a lot if they make it to the red zone.

Seahawks vs Lions Week 2 Prediction & Best Bets
Seahawks vs Lions Prediction: Lions 28, Seahawks 17
Seahawks vs Lions Best Bets: Lions -4.5 (Best Value: -110 on Bovada ) & Amon-Ra St. Brown Any Time Touchdown (Best Value: +100 on Bovada)
After how bad the Seahawks looked on both sides of the ball, this game is the Lions' to lose. Detroit looked like a well-rounded contender against Kansas City last week and shouldn't have an issue beating Seattle decisively.
Besides, the Lions are 10-1 ATS dating back to last season while the Seahawks have failed to cover in seven straight NFC matchups.
While the odds aren't up for Seahawks vs Lions player props just yet, I do like the idea of Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown scoring a touchdown.

St. Brown racked up 638 receiving yards and three TDs in his last eight games and just found the end zone last week. Considering how the Seahawks were destroyed through the air by the Rams, odds are the second-year WR has a terrific opportunity to score again in Week 2.
