Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have been incredible on offense and maybe just as bad on defense. The team ranks 30th in points allowed (29.6), 31st in opponent redzone efficiency (81%), 32nd in pass yards allowed and 32nd in opponent first downs.
The Lions have given up 18 total touchdowns in the redzone and they've played one fewer game than most of the league. Detroit's given up 14 touchdowns through the air and 9 of those touchdowns have gone to opposing TEs.
This week the Lions will face off against the Green Bay Packers, at Ford Field; here in Detroit. Jared Goff and Jordan Love have gone head to head here at Ford Field, 3 different times. The two teams combined for an average of 57 points per game and this was when Detroit's defense was good.
Detroit's given up 3+ passing touchdowns in 4 of their 5 games this year and they've given up 2+ passing touchdowns in all 5 games. They've given up the most touchdowns in the league to opposing TEs and this week they play a guy named Tucker Kraft who's been itching to get into the endzone.
Lastly, both Christian Watson and Matthew Golden lead the league in 'endzone' shots and Detroit's allowing the 5th highest explosive pass rate this year.
Matthew Golden in the Redzone:

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals sit just one spot ahead of the Lions, in terms of scoring defense. The team ranks 31st in points allowed (29.7), 25th in opponent redzone efficiency, 22nd in pass yards allowed and 28th in opponent yards per play.
Arizona's giving up 2.5 redzone touchdowns per game (23rd), they've given up a total of 18 touchdowns in the redzone and 14 of those have come through the air. Majority of those touchdowns (10) have gone to opposing wideouts and this week they play two guys that are pretty hard to cover.
The Cardinals have given up 6 touchdowns to the slot alignment and big reason is because Budda Baker's been struggling. Baker's given up 4 touchdowns this year, he's giving up a 12.8 yards per target and allowing a passer rating of 127.1 when targeted.
This week the Cardinals will host the Denver Broncos and while they've won 4 of their 6 games; the offense is struggling. Denver ranks 26th in points (19.0), 30th in 3rd down conversion rate, 28th in pass yards and 27th in first downs.
The Broncos struggle to generate any offense in general, but this might be the week they buck the trend.
Courtland Sutton in the Redzone:
- 14% Target Share
- 78% Route Share
- 78% Snap Share
- 21% 1st Read Target Share

Jaylen Waddle in the Redzone:
- 19% Target Share
- 76% Route Share
- 66% Snap Share

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints run defense is bad. This week the unit heads to Paris, France for their matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers and a red hot Jaylen Warren.
New Orleans ranks 31st in points allowed (29.7), 30th in rush yards allowed, 25th in pass yards allowed and 26th in opponent yards per play. The Saints have given up a touchdown to opposing RBs in every single game this year and they've given up 21 total touchdowns in the redzone.
The Steelers offense has been middle of the pack, 19th in redzone efficiency, 18th in scoring (22.8) and 28th in 3rd down conversion rate. Pittsburgh ranks 29th in redzone scoring attempts per game and while this week's matchup looks great; the offense has struggled.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders started the season hot, but have since come crashing back to Earth. The team ranks 26th in points allowed, 26th in opponent redzone efficiency, 27th in opponent 1st downs and 30th in yards per play allowed.
The defense has given up 27+ points in 4 straight games, 30+ in 3 straight games and have given up a combined 78 points over their last two games. This week the team's staying in Vegas, hosting the Los Angeles Rams and hoping for a better showing.
Normally, I'd be all over the Rams in this situation. The Rams rank 6th in redzone scoring attempts per game, 7th in redzone efficiency and 2nd in pass yards per game.
The Rams' offense is (normally) great, but they've struggled over their last two games and this week it looks like they'll be without both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. That's exactly why you won't see them here. I'm looking at other potential pass catchers to attack against Vegas.
The Raiders have given up 18 touchdowns in the redzone, 11 have come through the air and 7 have been to opposing wideouts. Konata Mumpfield and Tutu Atwell both stand to benefit from increased snaps if Puka does sit, there's just no data for to show for it.
Colby Parkinson in the Redzone:
- 7% Target Share
- 34% Route Share
- 62% Snap Share
- 6% 1st Read Target Share
- 5 Redzone Targets
- 0 Endzone Targets
Terrance Ferguson in the Redzone:

- 34% Route Share
- 43% Snap Share
- 11% 1st Read Target Share
- 1 Redzone Targets
- 1 Endzone Targets
Kyren Williams in the Redzone:

- 45% Route Share
- 71% Snap Share
