August is nearly over which means the final week of the 2023 NFL preseason is here. The final week of exhibition games starts with a big one as the Indianapolis Colts travel Thursday to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles at 8 p.m. ET.
The Colts have a pep in their step following a 24-17 victory over the Chicago Bears that saw Indianapolis score 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Eagles are on the hunt for their first preseason win after playing the Cleveland Browns to an 18-18 tie last week.
Below is everything you need to know heading into Thursday's Colts vs Eagles preseason game, from the latest odds to my favorite betting picks.

Colts vs Eagles Preseason Preview
Chances are that the majority of the Eagles' key players will be rested tonight. After all, Philadelphia has one of the most talent-rich lineups in the NFL and most of the 53-man roster is already set.
On top of that, the Eagles are one of the Super Bowl LVIII favorites (+900, No. 3 on BetOnline). The last thing they need is an unnecessary injury to derail their championship aspirations, meaning it'll mostly be reserve players on the field tonight.
At the same time, we'll likely see more of the Colts starters. Indianapolis underwent some serious changes in the offseason and will likely be stuck rebuilding for the next few seasons.
First-year head coach Shane Steichen still needs to see what he has to work with, meaning I expect to see a fair number of reps to some of Indy's starters.
In fact, Steichen has already confirmed that rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson will start against the Eagles tonight. April's fourth-overall selection has completed 7-of-12 preseason passing attempts for 67 yards with an interception while also rushing for seven yards on two carries.
With Jalen Hurts more than likely sitting for the Eagles, you can expect to see Tanner McKee and Marcus Mariota handling the signal-calling responsibilities.
The duo has combined for 439 yards and one touchdown (with an interception) on a 54.5% completion rate while also being sacked eight times. There's just little reason to believe that the pair can produce results tonight.
The Colts are also 8-3 ATS in their last 11 encounters with the Eagles, who are 4-12-1 ATS in their 17 previous preseason games. With the way each lineup is looking, don't be shocked if that trend continues.

With the Eagles likely resting most of their important players, the Colts have zero excuses to lose tonight. Not only is Indianapolis young and hungry, but beating Philadelphia would go a long way to boost player morale.
Keeping that in mind, the Colts will cover as -4.5 favorites. They're 5-1 ATS in their six previous trips to the City of Brotherly Love while Philly is 3-6 ATS in its last nine games overall. The lack of starters will make it tough for the home team to cover.
Another Colts vs Eagles bet that I like is taking the total to go over 38 points. On top of the over being 9-2 in the last 11 encounters between these teams, Indianapolis' first two preseason games both went over 38 points while Phlly's first two outings so an average total of 37.5 — close enough for me to feel comfortable with this bet.
