The NCAA Football season has come and gone quickly as we find ourselves with just one remaining game on the schedule. It all comes down to Monday, January 19 in Miami, Florida, where the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes will be the underdog and the designated away team in their own stadium, as they face the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers. Heisman winner, Fernando Mendoza, has his team one win away from perfection, and no one has come close to taking them down in the College Football Playoff. Could Miami give them a run for their money next Monday? Let's take a look at the early odds and insights for this CFP National Championship.

#10 Miami Hurricanes vs. #1 Indiana Hoosiers National Championship Early Odds

Can Carson Beck and Miami prove everyone wrong by upsetting the Hoosiers in the National Championship?
It's kind of scary how quickly this season has come to a close. Just yesterday it feels like I was (incorrectly) predicting the Penn State Nittany Lions to be the best team in the country, followed by the likes of two teams with Tiger mascots, in Clemson and LSU. Surely, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, and Garrett Nussmeier didn't all suck this year, right?
Regardless of how we thought the season might go, we are down to the final two teams.
In one corner, we have the No. 1 team in the nation who has just two losses in their last 28 football games, led on the field by this year's Heisman, and on the sidelines by a guy that will tell you to google him if you have any doubt. Curt Cignetti has completely revamped this Hoosier's team in two years, and are one win away from a perfect season.
However in the other corner, we have a team that people (me) still think didn't deserve to be in the field of 12, led by a coach who has certainly made plenty of questionable decisions on the national stage over the years, and by a quarterback who's college career was just about DOA when he stepped foot in South Beach. But now, Mario Cristobal and Carson Beck are one win away from proving the haters wrong.

#10 Miami vs. #1 Indiana National Championship Early Leans

Fernando Mendoza and Indiana are one win away from a historic, undefeated season
This line originally opened with the Hoosiers laying just 7.5. Now, on Lucky Rebel, it is up to an even eight, while 7.5 is still widely available, other books have already jumped up to 8.5, as they must've taken plenty of volume on the Hoosiers already.
The Hoosiers look different. They absolutely rolled past Alabama in what was supposed to be a "real test" against an SEC opponent. They beat them 38-3 and held them to less than 200 yards of offense. Then they had a rematch against Oregon, and people thought "it's really hard to beat a team twice". Indiana beat them 56-22, won the turnover battle 3-0, and were 11/14 on third down. Can anyone slow them down?
While I was a very vocal Carson Beck doubter, I will admit he proved me wrong in the semifinal against Ole Miss. He looked good and ultimately won Miami the game, but I don't think he can do it again against the Hoosiers. If I was a smart man, I would've listened to Colby and I's advice this past week and taken the Hoosiers to win it all at +135 prior to either semifinal matchup. It would be nice having that in my pocket, and instead of taking a side in this game, I will likely back Miami's team total under, however laying -130 for under 20.5 seems like a foolish bet.
Ultimately, do we trust Curt Cignetti or Mario Cristobal more? That should be an easy answer.
