On Friday evening we have eight total college football games, and three top 15 teams are in action. We'll focus on the No. 7 ranked Miami Hurricanes, the National Runner Ups last year, as they begin their season against the Stanford Cardinal out in California. In this matchup, we have one team who already has a game under their belt, but is playing on a short week. While the other could still be shaking off the rust as they fly over 3,000 miles across the entire country. Let's get into our expert picks in this NCAA Football matchup.

NCAA Football Expert Insights: No. 7 Miami vs. Stanford

Mark Fletcher ran for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns last year for the Hurricanes
I'm not sure if any of you recall the Hurricanes' travel schedule last year, but it was hysterical. Mario Cristobal and company didn't leave South Beach until early October, when they only flew to Tallahassee. They didn't leave the state of Florida until November. Now they open the season, after losing by a single possession in the CFP National Championship last year, all the way across the country with a new quarterback. Will Darian Mensah live up to the hype?
As for Stanford, they came away with a Week 0 win and covered the spread late, although things got dicey with a bunch of Rainbow Warrior points in the fourth quarter. They can let out a quick sigh of relief, but now they have to turn around and face a championship contender on a short week. Good luck, Cardinal. You'll need it.
While I don't have a ton of faith in this Miami team when they face real opponents, they should cruise to the top of the ACC. They certainly aren't looking ahead to facing Florida A&M next week, but I would expect Cristobal wants his team to be ready to go on both sides of the ball early on this season.

Davis Warren leads Stanford against No. 7 Miami at home this Friday
Miami vs. Stanford Prediction: Hurricanes Win and Cover, Under 48
Best Bet: Miami/Stanford Under 48 (-115) BetOnline
I am leaning with the under here, just because I am not expecting much offensive contribution from the hosts. They are coming down from a big, emotional, Week 0 win, and are now facing a top 10 team on a short week. That is not a winning recipe. Sure Hawaii is going to be alright in the Mountain West, but Miami should run the ACC and compete in the CFP as well. The two are not comparable opponents. This is a wake up call matchup for the hosts.
Davis Warren threw for 310 yards with zero turnovers, leading the Cardinal offense to 484 total yards and four scores. But now they face arguably a top five secondary and defensive line in the country. It's going to be very tough for them to move the ball. Now, Stanford's team total is listed around 11.5, which does interest me, but not enough to lay the -120.
Instead, I'll opt for the full game total, paying -120 for the 48.5. Let's see a 35-10 Miami win.
