The College Football Playoff picture has officially been flipped on its head. Top programs are falling, prices are moving fast, and value is slowly disappearing. With Ole Miss and Miami set to clash in the Fiesta Bowl and Indiana continuing its dominant run, the betting board tells a fascinating story. Futures prices, matchup leverage, and timing matter more than ever at this stage. This preview breaks down where the best value still exists, how to approach each semifinal, and why betting the outright market may be the sharpest move before the next kickoff.

National Champion Insights

For those who have been keeping up with this page, I hope someone out there snagged the 22 to 1 ticket on Ole Miss to win the national championship, or the 15 to 1 yesterday. The Rebels took down the Bulldogs 39 to 34 at the Sugar Bowl in cinematic fashion. Now, the two teams that have shaken up the entire College Football Playoffs will be going toe-to-toe at the Fiesta Bowl in the semifinals. Does Ole Miss have enough motivation to stick it to Lane Kiffin, or does Miami have the juice to continue proving they always deserved to be in the playoffs? This is going to be awesome.

Where is the value?

I think Indiana did enough to prove they are not like Ohio State. They are on another planet. After putting the Alabama Crimson Tide to rest 38 to 3 in the second round, I am baffled to see they are still listed above even money to win it all. I thought they would be around -110, but that just means more value for those looking to get involved with the Hoosiers.

My advice to anyone wanting to get involved with Indiana against Oregon is to save the points and take them to win it all at +135. They will be a favorite moving forward, and this is the best price you can get on the clearly superior team.

The same goes for those who want to bet Miami against Ole Miss. Just take them to win it all at +275. There is no need to worry about covering a number. They just have to beat Ole Miss. The Hurricanes will likely not be above 2 to 1 against either Indiana or Oregon, so this is the best option on the board.

What about the underdogs?

The fact that you can still get Ole Miss at 6 to 1 right now is a great number. I would argue they still offer the most value of any team left in the playoffs, even with their odds being cut in half from yesterday. They will be underdogs in the national championship, but you will not get a better number than 6 to 1 if you were to bet their moneyline over the next 2 games.

As for the Ducks, who are coming off a 23 to nothing shutdown of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, they sit with the third shortest odds to win it all and are 3.5-point underdogs against the Hoosiers in the third round. What do we do with them? If you truly believe this is the team that is going to win it all, you are betting them at the current number. Yes, they are underdogs right now against Indiana, but if they take down the No. 1 seed, they will not be underdogs in the national championship.

I am letting the dust settle before making any moves, so be on the lookout in the coming days.
