With the College Football Playoff Semifinals set to begin, the national title picture deserves another deep look. The market has barely moved, yet one team continues to be undervalued despite proving itself all season. This preview breaks down the current odds, the revenge narratives shaping the bracket, and why the number 1 seed still offers the best value on the board. From Indiana's dominance against Oregon to questions surrounding coaching focus and defensive reliability, this piece explains why backing the Hoosiers now eliminates future headaches and creates a clean path to profit as the playoff unfolds.

National Champion Insights

With the College Football Playoff Semifinals kicking off, as the Miami Hurricanes take on the Ole Miss Rebels, I thought it was a great time to revisit the national champion odds. Not much has moved since last Friday. Indiana and Miami sit atop the odds, while the Ducks and Rebels follow closely behind.

This time, I have a play, and I think it is the best option if you have yet to enter this market. Take the number 1 seed at plus money. I find it extremely disrespectful to the Indiana Hoosiers that they are still priced at plus money to win the whole thing, when they have been the clear cut best team in the country all year long. At this point last year, Ohio State was sitting at -120. Is it simply because of the name that they received that much love?

Will the Trend Continue?

We are getting the third revenge spot of the playoffs. Earlier, Alabama got its revenge on Oklahoma, and Ole Miss took care of Georgia in the last round. Now, the Ducks look to be the third team trying to get revenge for a regular season loss. Back in October, Indiana went into Eugene and took down Oregon 30 to 20. The Hoosiers were a 6.5 point favorite in that matchup, and they completely owned the hometown Ducks. Indiana outgained Oregon in every statistical category.

With this being a neutral site game and Indiana favored by 3.5, I want no part of the points. I still want to back Indiana, so the best option is taking them to win it all, which is currently priced at +135 on Lucky Rebel.

Sure, it is strange that the line is shorter than it was back in October, but I find it hard to trust Oregon. Yes, they completely owned Texas Tech, but who prepared the Red Raiders for that game? Utah? BYU? Texas Tech's first real test of the season came in the second round of the playoffs. On top of that, Oregon's best wins this year have come on the road against Iowa and USC. I think they are a very well coached team and loaded with talent, but I cannot trust them to beat Indiana.

The beauty of taking the Hoosiers now is that you do not have to worry about covering points in the national championship. You are paying for two moneylines. Indiana will be favored moving forward, regardless of whether Ole Miss or Miami moves on tonight. I do not see either of those teams getting past the Hoosiers. Miami's offense will not be enough to keep up, even if the defense plays a perfect game. Ole Miss would make things exciting with its lethal offense, but can that defense slow down Indiana? Probably not.

Where is the Focus?

The worst part of all this is that many coaches are effectively working two jobs at once while still trying to win a national championship. Where is the motivation for some of these staffs? Are they focused on winning now, or building toward next year with a new team? Only one team is not worried about that, Indiana.

Best Bet: Indiana (+135) on Lucky Rebel
