Wisconsin vs. Minnesota Bet
Kicking off this massive Super Tuesday slate with a Big Ten showdown at the Barn, the Golden Gophers host the Wisconsin Badgers, who are coming off their biggest win of the season and looking to keep that momentum alive. Minnesota, meanwhile, is coming off an overtime loss on Friday against USC. Will the Gophers be able to protect the Barn this evening against this Wisconsin team? I think so…
Letdown City, USA
If this matchup were in Madison, I might have different thoughts about taking Minnesota in this spot. However, knocking off the then No. 2 team in the nation on their home court and then having to stay on the road is a tough ask. On top of that, it was not as if the Badgers were slight underdogs. They were nearly 20 point underdogs, 18.5 to be exact. That was a massive win for this Wisconsin squad, especially considering they were previously 1-5 against top 50 teams this season. Those five losses came by an average margin of 19 points.
Winning is the Wisconsin culture.

That victory over Michigan marked only their second true road game of the season. Their first was an embarrassing 90 to 60 loss to Nebraska. Overall, in their six games away from home, the Badgers show some clear holes. They are bottom 100 in turnover defense, offensive rebounding, offensive block percentage, and three-point defense.
The Golden Gophers are always tough to beat at home. Haslametrics grades Minnesota as the No. 1 team in the country in away-home court metrics, while Wisconsin ranks 32nd worst.
Minnesota's loss on Friday marked their first home loss of the season. Prior to that matchup against USC, they were a perfect 9-0. At home this season, the Golden Gophers rank top 30 in adjusted defensive efficiency, eFG% defense, and both two and three-point percentage defense. They are also the 29th slowest team in the country at the Barn. Minnesota is going to force Wisconsin to play its game, slow and methodical on the defensive end. Wisconsin currently ranks as the 70th fastest team in the country. If the Badgers are forced to play slow and outside their comfort zone, the Gophers should be golden.
