Saturday might be the best day on the sports calendar. College football is winding down and every matchup carries extra weight, while college basketball is in full swing with wall to wall action from morning to night. Hundreds of games, endless angles, and pure chaos for anyone who loves this stuff. The real college sports junkies are locking in on the couch until March, and tonight delivers another loaded slate. I am diving into one of the most intriguing spots on the board, a matchup built on pace, rhythm, and nonstop attacking. This one has fireworks written all over it.

William & Mary vs. #13 St. John's Best Bet
So much is going down on this massive Saturday. College football is winding down and every game means more. College basketball is in full swing and we are once again spoiled with hundreds of games. The college sports junkies are getting ready to hibernate on the couch until March. It is truly the best time of the year.
This evening No. 13 St. Johns hosts William and Mary, coming off their loss to No. 8 Alabama a week ago. They have had a week to let the blood in their mouth marinate, and head coach Rick Pitino without a doubt had enough time to get his team ready to bounce back against the Tribe.
The Red Storm opened as 27.5-point favorites and the number has since ticked up to 28.5. The total is at a sky high 176.5 on BetOnline, which is a great number to take the over at. It is the lowest number out there. The tempo in this game is going to feel exactly the way it did last week against Alabama. Lighting speed. However, I snagged the Jonnies at -28.5 because of the bounce back and because I do not think they are going to stop running unless it is halftime or the game ended.
Tempo Tempo Tempo
With both teams running at a top 25 pace, Haslametrics has the Tribe as the ninth fastest team in the country, while the Red Storm are the 22nd fastest. I fully expect Pitino and his boys to score the Tribe to death. They are going to play their style of driving to the rim and getting to the line. William and Mary has struggled a ton this season with keeping their hands to themselves. They are currently 356th in free throw rate defense. The Jonnies through two games are the 12th best team at getting to the line.
On top of that, the Tribe are awful at rebounding. Through three games this season Bart Torvik has them 275th in offensive rebounding and 313th in defensive rebounding. The Jonnies are going to get after second chance points and eliminate the Tribe chances at them.
William and Mary is coming off a loss to Richmond 90 to 86, a top 125 team in the country. Now they have to take on a top 15 team. This game is going to be a long one for the Tribe if they are allowing 90 points to a Richmond team that is currently 312th in tempo and is nowhere near as talented as the Red Storm.
The books have the Jonnies team total at 102.5. One, do not bet that. Second, that goes to show you how many possessions the Jonnies are expected to get this evening. I do think they score over 100 points, but I would much rather take the 28.5 spread. If they are scoring 100 or more, they will be winning by 30 or more.
Best Bet: St. John's -28.5 (-115) on BetOnline
