Saturday afternoon Big 12 action takes center stage as Oklahoma State heads to Ames to face No. 3 Iowa State. The Cowboys enter with confidence after a marquee win earlier in the week, but this is a massive step up in class on the road. Iowa State remains one of the hottest teams in the country, blending elite defensive pressure with an efficient offense. The Cyclones thrive on forcing turnovers, controlling the glass, and dictating tempo, especially at home. Oklahoma State will need a near perfect performance to keep pace, while Iowa State looks to send another statement to the rest of the conference.

Oklahoma State vs. #3 Iowa State Bet
Nothing like afternoon Big 12 college basketball to keep your Saturday rocking and rolling. We have an intriguing matchup between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and No. 3 Iowa State Cyclones going down in Ames. Both teams are riding the momentum of wins earlier in the week, but no team in the country is hotter than Iowa State. Do the Cowboys have what it takes to win back to back games against top 25 opponents, or will the Cyclones steamroll yet another foe?
Fade the Storm
The Cowboys are coming off their biggest win of the season, an emotional 87 to 76 victory over No. 25 UCF. The Oklahoma State faithful stormed the court after the dominant performance. Now comes the letdown spot, as they head on the road to face one of the nation's elite programs. In that matchup against UCF, the Cowboys also played well above its means, shooting 52.6% from three. On the season against top 100 teams, the Cowboys are shooting closer to 32%. That efficiency is unlikely to hold against an Iowa State defense ranked 60th in opponent three-point percentage and seventh nationally in overall defensive efficiency. Oklahoma State also lost the turnover battle 15 to 11 in that win, and Iowa State ranks second in the country at forcing turnovers while sitting inside the top 50 in ball security. This sets up as a clear reality check for the Cowboys on Saturday afternoon.
Iowa State has been rolling all season, owning a perfect 15-0 record while navigating the 103rd toughest schedule in the country. The Cyclones have beaten all eight of their top 100 opponents. In those games, they have consistently forced turnovers, stayed disciplined defensively, and dominated second chance points. Overall, Iowa State boasts a top 12 offense paired with a top ten defense.
Reality Check
This matchup should serve as a major wake up call for an Oklahoma State team making just its second true road trip of the season. In the four games the Cowboys have played away from home, they have struggled to force turnovers, control the offensive glass, and shoot efficiently from beyond the arc. Those are precisely the areas Iowa State will attack, and the Cowboys are likely to feel it.
The number is large, but just last Saturday Texas Tech beat Oklahoma State 102 to 80, which would cover this spread. Expect a fast paced game, as the total suggests, and a similar outcome. Give me the Cyclones to cover the opening line at 18.5.
