Monday night brings MEAC basketball to Baltimore as North Carolina Central visits Morgan State. Both teams enter off recent wins, but the matchup profiles clearly in favor of the Eagles. NC Central owns a significant edge in schedule strength and conference efficiency, particularly on the offensive end. They shoot the ball well from deep, get to the line, and capitalize on second chances. Morgan State has struggled to defend all season and has not shown the ability to slow efficient offenses. If pace increases, it only benefits the Eagles. Expect NC Central to control the game and apply pressure throughout.

NC Central vs. Morgan State Bet
Nothing gets the sickos out of bed on a Monday more than knowing they have MEAC basketball to look forward to after a long day at work. The North Carolina Central Eagles head to Baltimore to take on the Morgan State Bears. Both teams are riding high after wins in their previous games and are eyeing another conference victory. Can the hometown Bears slow down one of the MEAC's best? We shall see.
I have made a point to keep an eye on the Morgan State Bears schedule after witnessing them make two field goals in the first half against DePaul on December ninth. They have to be one of the worst assembled basketball teams I have ever seen. I will continue to fade them this evening as they host NC Central, a team that has endured a far tougher schedule than Morgan State. Haslametrics has the Eagles 207 spots ahead of the Bears in strength of schedule, as the hometown team has played the 38th easiest schedule in the country.
Bad News Bears
So far this season, Morgan State has secured four wins, with half of those coming against non-division one opponents. The other two wins came against South Carolina State and Niagara, both of whom sit in the bottom ten nationally, per Bart Torvik. NC Central has a similar resume in terms of wins, with only two of their six victories coming against division one opponents. Those wins have come in their last two games against Norfolk State and Coppin State.
Those victories also marked the Eagles' first two conference games of the season, and their offense is currently ranked first in the conference in nearly every statistical category. Overall, their offense is far better than their defense. They shoot efficiently from beyond the arc, get to the line consistently, convert their free throws, and attack the offensive glass.
Morgan State's defense has been nonexistent this season, ranking 359th overall. They struggle to defend the interior, send opponents to the line, and fail to clean up the defensive glass. Offensively, through their first two conference games, they rank sixth overall. However, they sit bottom two in three-point percentage, offensive rebounding, and offensive block percentage.
With this game likely being played at an increased pace due to Morgan State, defense should be limited, and NC Central clearly has the better offense in this matchup. In ten games away from home this season, the Eagles rank top 80 in free throw rate offense, free throw percentage, and three point percentage. They should be able to dictate the style of play and come out on top against one of the worst teams in the country.
