Doug Gottlieb and Green Bay are favored by a touchdown over the IU Indy Jaguars tonight - NCAA Basketball Picks

A Horizon League matchup opens the week as Milwaukee heads north to face Green Bay in Wisconsin. The Panthers enter this spot looking to halt a two game skid and close out their three game road trip on a high note. Green Bay comes in with momentum after an impressive eighteen point upset win over Purdue Fort Wayne, their most dominant result of the season against a Division One opponent. This sets up a classic bounce back versus letdown spot. Milwaukee has been one of the top defensive teams in conference play, while Green Bay continues to struggle on that end of the floor. Pace will be a key factor, as Milwaukee prefers to run and Green Bay would rather slow things down.

Milwaukee vs. Green Bay Bet

Nothing quite like a Horizon League special to kick off the week. This evening, the Milwaukee Panthers head north to Green Bay, Wisconsin to take on the Phoenix. The Panthers are riding a two game losing streak and are looking to snap those losing ways in the final game of their three game road trip. Meanwhile, the Phoenix are looking to keep their winning ways alive after taking down Purdue Fort Wayne by 18-points last Thursday as eight point underdogs. That marked their biggest margin of victory of the season, excluding non division one opponents.

Letdown City, USA

I am full blown fading Doug Gottlieb and his boys after their biggest win of the season last week. Meanwhile, the Panthers are looking to bounce back after 2 tough losses to Wisconsin by 20 and Wright State by six. I snagged the Panthers on the moneyline at -122. Forget the points and pay the juice.

Through four conference games this season, Milwaukee has been one of the best defensive teams in the Horizon. They are ranked top three in adjusted defensive efficiency, eFG%, rebounding, three-point percentage, and two-point percentage. Offensively, they have struggled a bit, but they are still at the top of the league in offensive rebounding and protecting the basketball.

Luckily for us, Green Bay has no defense. Overall this season, the Phoenix are ranked in the bottom 75 in adjusted defensive efficiency, eFG%, turnover percentage, and two-point percentage. This will mark just their second true home game, as they also hosted two non-division one schools earlier in the year.

So far this season, Green Bay has been playing at a much slower pace, while Milwaukee has been running. The Panthers are 203 spots ahead of the Phoenix in pace. I do not think Green Bay is good enough to slow down Milwaukee. I fully expect this game to be faster than the home team would like. With how poorly Green Bay plays on the defensive side, they will be forced to keep up with the Panthers.

This has bounce back versus get right written all over it, with Green Bay coming off their most dominant win of the season and Milwaukee coming off two straight tough losses. I will happily take the Panthers to come out on top in this matchup.

Best Bet: Milwaukee Moneyline (-122) on Lucky Rebel
