Georgetown vs. Creighton Bet
Big East college hoops, nothing beats it. Nothing. This evening, we have two teams coming off losses looking to turn things around and get back on track. The Creighton Bluejays host the struggling Georgetown Hoyas in their first meeting of the season. Their next matchup will not come until February fourth. With the Hoyas riding a three-game losing streak and showing little momentum, is this a simple get right spot for the Bluejays? Let us dive in.
After three straight tough losses, this feels like a strong spot to back the Hoyas. They opened as 9.5 point underdogs and have since dropped to 8.5. I still believe grabbing them at that number is worth a look.

Georgetown is coming off a 12-point loss to St. John's, a six-point loss to DePaul where they made just one field goal in the entire second half, and a nine-point loss to Seton Hall. This team needs a response, and they have been much better on the road this season. They should show up this evening against Creighton. Haslametrics grades Georgetown as the 11th best team in away-home court metrics, while Creighton is 256th.
The Bluejays are also coming off a brutal home loss to St. John's, falling 90 to 73 on their home floor as a 2.5-point favorite. Despite a 7-2 home record this season, Creighton has some clear flaws. In those nine home games, they are bottom 100 in turnover defense, free throw rate offense, three-point defense, and defensive block percentage. Across their six conference games, they sit near the bottom of the Big East in many of those same categories.
Georgetown has quietly been one of the stronger defensive teams this season. Away from home, they rank inside the top 50 in adjusted defensive efficiency, eFG% defense, rebounding, two-point defense, and block percentage. Offense has been the issue, but if they can attack the glass, get to the line, and protect the basketball, they should be in a good spot. On the season, Georgetown ranks eighth in turnover rate offense and 28th in free throw rate offense.
Georgetown hosts UConn on Saturday, then heads to Villanova next Wednesday, a brutal stretch ahead. If they can steal 1 win out of these three games, it would be massive for a team that has struggled. On the other side, Creighton travels to Providence on Friday. Could they be looking ahead to a short turnaround and a potential top 100 road win later in the week? It is possible. Give me Georgetown to cover the 8.5.
