#21 Georgia vs. Missouri Bet
We have ourselves an unranked home favorite down in Columbus, where the Tigers are a short favorite over No. 21 Georgia. Both teams enter tonight coming off completely different results. The Tigers suffered a loss on Saturday, while the Bulldogs roll in after an impressive win over the Razorbacks. Can the Tigers hold down the fort at home this evening? I think they can.
Get Right Cats
Give me the kitty kitties in this spot back at home after a tough road loss to LSU this past Saturday. The Bulldogs should come back down to earth after a dominating win over the Razorbacks this past weekend. They closed as a 2.5 point favorite and won by 14 against a very good Arkansas team, in my opinion. Even with the Tigers owning a perfect record at home, I am not worried about whether they keep it intact this evening, because I do not trust the Bulldogs on the road.
Haslametrics grades Georgia as the 177th best team in away home court metrics, while Missouri checks in as the 13th best. That is not the only metric where the Tigers hold a significant advantage. He also has Missouri with a clear edge in momentum, stating, "Missouri has the momentum edge here, as Georgia has not put together many great performances recently (nationally ranked 346th in positive momentum)." On top of that, consistency favors the Tigers as well, noting, "Missouri is one of college basketball's more consistent teams, ranking 76th in the country in consistency. Georgia rates more in the middle."
Cruising Down Easy Street
This marks only the Bulldogs fourth true road game of the season. Prior to tonight, they have taken down Florida State and South Carolina. Their lone loss came at Florida, where they fell 92 to 77. In total, the Bulldogs have played six games away from home. They have looked solid overall, but they sit in the bottom 20 nationally in three point percentage.
The Tigers are going to force this game to be as fast as mall walkers on a Tuesday morning, slow. Missouri ranks 219th in pace per Haslametrics, while Georgia is the fourth fastest team in the nation. Points must be at a premium this evening, especially if the saying holds true that home teams typically dictate pace. Tonight, that is a must for the Tigers if they want to keep Georgia in check. With a top 100 eFG% defense, Missouri should be able to hold it down in front of the home crowd. Give me the kitty cats to stay perfect at home.
