Florida returns home on Tuesday night for a marquee SEC matchup against No. 18 Georgia, looking to bounce back after a narrow road loss to Missouri. The Gators have tested themselves with one of the toughest schedules in the country and remain far better than their unranked status suggests. Georgia enters off an emotional overtime win against Auburn, but this will be just its second true road game of the season. With a hostile environment expected in Gainesville and Florida positioned for a response, this sets up as a critical spot for both teams early in conference play.

#18 Georgia vs. Florida Bet
Nothing hits harder than an SEC showdown on a Tuesday night down in Florida. The Gators host No. 18 Georgia after a tough road loss to Missouri on Saturday. On the other side, the Bulldogs are coming off a four point overtime win against the Auburn Tigers. Will the Gators be able to fight their way back into the win column and potentially back into the top 25, or will the Bulldogs be too much for them? Let us dive into it all.
It Smells Like Fish
A wise man once told me that if a line is fishy, it is fishy for a reason. I try to remember that any time I think a number is wrong and find myself questioning it. Are lines always right? No, but they are usually sharp, unless we are betting baseball, which we are not in this situation.
Florida finds itself as a ten-point home favorite against No. 18 Georgia. Some will immediately think, an unranked home team favored against a ranked opponent. That is a trend many have learned to lean into, but if you think the books are not aware of that trend, you are fooling yourself. I am not backing Florida because of that angle tonight. I am taking them because the number is telling a blowout is coming.
Bounce Back City, USA
Florida just fell to Missouri on Saturday, 76 to 74, marking their fifth loss of the season. Those losses came against Arizona, TCU, Duke, UConn, and Missouri, a list that includes some of the best teams in the country. Florida may not be ranked, but Bart Torvik still has them rated as the 17th best team nationally. Against top 100 competition, the Gators rank inside the top 45 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. They continue to excel on the glass, get to the free throw line, and defend the interior at a high level.
Georgia, meanwhile, has faced the 86th easiest schedule in the country, while Florida has played the 22nd toughest. The Bulldogs have played just four teams inside the top 100. They own a 3-1 record in those games, but that slate included Clemson, Florida State, Cincinnati, and Auburn. Clemson was the lone loss. Florida, for comparison, has already played eight teams inside the top 100, nearly 60% of its schedule.
This matchup marks just the second true road game of the season for Georgia. The first came at Florida State, a 107 to 73 win that looked impressive on the surface. However, the Seminoles are 0-7 against top 100 teams this season, which puts that result into perspective. Overall, Georgia has played four games away from home and has struggled in key areas. The Bulldogs have had issues shooting from deep, raising questions about their ability to hit perimeter shots if they fall behind. They also do not force turnovers on the road, ranking 267th in that category.
I expect Gainesville to be a madhouse tonight. Florida is in a prime bounce back spot against an SEC foe, while Georgia could be a bit flat after an emotional overtime win against Auburn. Give me the Gators to cover the ten points.
