#14 Kansas vs. #11 Texas Tech Bet
There have been some sleepy Monday slates over the past few weeks, but we are kicking this week off the right way with No. 14 Kansas heading into Lubbock to take on No. 11 Texas Tech. Both teams are coming off very different weekends. One is looking to keep morale high and its winning ways alive, while the other is aiming to bounce back after a tough road loss. Can this Jayhawks team, which has not played its best basketball, win its sixth straight game, or will the Red Raiders respond after falling to UCF?
And the fans storm the court! #UCF pulls off a statement upset against no.11 ranked Texas Tech 88-80.
What a win in this one, arguably the best win this season.
Hate to sound like a broken record but not at 6-3 in conference play with just three more wins and UCF is playing… pic.twitter.com/XO7ZpSp3VB

After being upset on the road this past weekend against the Knights, the Red Raiders return home to host a red hot Jayhawks team that is riding a five game winning streak and coming off a win over BYU on Saturday. Prior to that loss, Texas Tech put together a demanding stretch, beating BYU on January 17th, winning at Baylor, then taking down Houston on the 24th, before finally stumbling at UCF. A slip felt inevitable after a run like that.
Get Right Raiders
That is why I originally grabbed Texas Tech at -2.5 on Sunday morning, and while the number has since moved to 4.5, I still endorse it. Kansas ranks 30th worst in away home court metrics, per Haslametrics, while Texas Tech checks in as the 94th best.
Through 11 home games this season, the Red Raiders own the seventh best offense in the country, complemented by a top 60 defense. This group excels at protecting the basketball, crashing the offensive glass, keeping their hands to themselves, and shooting efficiently from beyond the arc.
This will be the Jayhawks fifth true road game of the season, and while their overall numbers have remained fairly consistent, they have struggled to force turnovers, attack the offensive boards, get to the free throw line, and consistently win the battle inside.
It will be interesting to see how Kansas responds after knocking off BYU, and whether Texas Tech can get right following a tough loss. This also sets up as a sandwich spot for the Jayhawks, with a trip to Lubbock tonight, Utah at home on Saturday, then Arizona at home on Monday. It is a demanding week, and they feel due to stumble in one of these spots.
Best Bet: Texas Tech -4.5 (-113) on Lucky Rebel
