The Mavericks put the Timberwolves in a 3-0 chokehold with Game 3's 116-107 victory. Minnesota simply didn't have an answer for the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who scored 33 points apiece while combing for 10 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals.

As they find themselves in a 3-0 hole tonight, it's safe to say that the Western Conference Finals haven't gone as the Timberwolves planned. Despite keeping the contests relatively close, Minnesota has been unable to get the better of Dallas, being outscored by an average of 4.3 points per game thus far.

A big reason why the Mavericks have the chance to advance tonight is because they've successfully shut down the Timberwolves' best players. Anthony Edwards is putting up 22.0 PPG with .386/.333/.833 splits while Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging just 15.0 points while shooting 27.8% from the floor and 13.6% from deep. Even Rudy Gobert is only averaging 7.7 rebounds per outing.

Meanwhile, the Mavs' top players are putting on a show. Doncic (32.7 PTS/7.7 REB/8.7 AST) and Irving (27.7 PTS/4.0 REB/4.7 AST) are showing up more often than not and have demonstrated impressive efficiency throughout the series. Without their consistency, Dallas would most likely be toast.

The Timberwolves need the likes of Anthony Edwards to step up if they want to keep their postseason hopes alive. 

It's worth pointing out that the Timberwolves haven't been playing the most consistent brand of basketball lately. Despite being in the Western Conference Finals, Minnesota has still lost six of its last eight games dating back to the second round.

I also can't ignore the fact that the T-wolves are also 2-6 ATS during that stretch. What makes matters worse is that they're also 1-5 ATS in their last six encounters with the Mavericks, who have covered the spread in four of their last six outings.

Additionally, the Mavs are 7-2 SU in their last nine home games against the Timberwolves. Interestingly enough, all but one of those victories came by multiple possessions.

Having said that, we're taking Dallas to win tonight. The Mavericks have found a way to show up every night, whereas the Timberwolves are barely getting anything out of their top players. It's clear that the Mavs' postseason experience is paying off at this point, so look for that trend to continue.

I'm also going to back the Mavericks to cover the spread considering that winning by two-plus points isn't that big of an ask.
