"I've been in this league a long time now and I know when it's a passing of the guard. I know when the young dudes are going to come in and do the same thing the older guys are doing."

The Suns’ four-game road trip kicked off on Monday, beginning with a 117-11 victory over the shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers. On the flip side, the Celtics are on the hunt for their fourth consecutive win after downing the Utah Jazz 123-107 two nights ago.
These teams are also two of the top championship contenders this season. Bovada lists Boston as being the current 2023-24 NBA Finals favorite (+230) while Phoenix sits sixth at +2000 odds.
In other words, this is a matchup you won’t want to miss, so let’s dive into my Suns vs. Celtics predictions and best NBA bets.

Suns vs Celtics Prediction & NBA Picks Today (3/14): Can BOS Sweep Season Series?
You don’t have to go too far back for the first Suns vs. Celtics collision of the 2023-24 campaign. After all, the two foes faced off at Footprint Center just five days ago. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 45 points but it wasn’t good enough as the Celtics went on to pick up a 117-107 victory over the Suns. Phoenix was outscored 62-52 in the first half and couldn’t claw its way back.
With that loss, Phoenix has now lost 12 of its last 18 games against Boston. The Suns are also 2-4 SU in their last six meetings with the Celtics, averaging a mere 102.7 points in those contests whereas the latter put up 108.0 PPG.
It’ll be interesting to see if Phoenix can buck that trend on the road. While the Suns are only 2-3 SU in their last five away matchups, they’ve beaten Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets in their last two road games.
Do the Suns have what it takes to win their third road game in a row tonight?
Unfortunately, road success means little for any team heading to TD Garden.
The Celtics have been the best home team throughout the 2023-24 season and it isn’t even close. The C’s boast a dominant 29-3 SU record at TD Garden, covering the spread in 56.3% of those contests (6th). Additionally, when it comes to home team stats, Boston ranks second in points, sixth in field-goal percentage, first in threes made and three-point percentage, first in rebounds, and first in average point differential.
An example of that dominance is the seven-game winning streak the Celtics are currently on at home. Their offense has been on fire during that stretch, averaging 131.4 PPG while outscoring opponents by an average of 28.6 PPG.
The Celtics will be without Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring), but that shouldn’t be an issue since they’re 16-3 SU when he misses a game this season. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown (back) is expected to be a game-time decision.
As for the Suns, they could be without a few depth pieces. Josh Okogie (abdomen) has been ruled out while Nassir Little (knee) and Eric Gordon’s (knee) status is up in the air.
The Celtics have enough talent — including Jayson Tatum — to survive life without Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring).
As solid as the Suns are, the Celtics aren’t losing tonight. Boston has only lost THREE games at TD Garden all season and I don’t see that changing against a Phoenix team that hasn’t been that great on the road. Couple that with the fact that Joe Mazzulla’s team just beat the Suns this past weekend and it’s easy to like the C’s sweeping the season series.
With that in mind, we’re also taking the Celtics to cover the spread. Boston has been great at covering the spread lately, going 9-2 ATS in its 11 previous outings and 6-1 ATS against its last seven Western Conference opponents. At the same time, Phoenix has only covered once in its last seven outings while also going 1-5 ATS the last six times it faced an Atlantic Division team.
After beating the Suns by 10 points on the road five nights ago, winning by seven or more won’t be an issue for the Celtics.

Best Suns vs Celtics NBA Prop Bet (3/14)
Although he’s known for his scoring, Jayson Tatum is a solid playmaker, too. That’s why I’m taking him to record 6+ assists for the best Suns vs. Celtics player prop this evening.
Over his last 16 games, Tatum is averaging 6.2 assists while pulling through on this prop 10 times. He’s finished with at least six helpers in three of his last four outings, putting up 6.3 APG during that stretch. That’s without mentioning how he recorded seven assists against the Suns on Saturday.
With how many points the Celtics have been scoring at home lately, I expect Tatum to be quite active when it comes to setting up his teammates.
Best Suns vs Celtics Prop Bet: Jayson Tatum to Record 6+ Assists (+120)
