Philadelphia 76ers vs Denver Nuggets Best Bet: No Embiid, No Problem?

The Philadelphia 76ers continue their West Coast road trip to take on Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in a battle of the 2 MVP frontrunners…or so we thought.

The Nuggets just dismantled Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, 129-106, and they will look to do the same tonight against the Sixers.

If you were excited to tune in to this game for the battle of the two MVP frontrunners, yea so we’re we. Sorry to disappoint…

THIS JUST IN: Joel Embiid has been ruled out of this game due to Calf soreness.

Can the Nuggets pick up their 4th win in a row or will the Sixers end their 2 game skid without Embiid and get a much-needed win in Ball Arena tonight?

We have got you covered for everything you need to watch and bet on this East versus West Coast Battle!

We should have ourselves a treat in the Mile High City tonight as 2 of the top dogs from each conference go head to head in a game both teams need to win.

The Nuggets saw a bit of a dip a few weeks ago, losing some winnable games and allowing the Grizzlies and Kings to inch closer to the top spot in the West.

They have responded though, with 3 straight wins and will look to make it number 4 tonight against the sputtering Sixers.

The Sixers have dropped 2 in a row to start this West Coast road trip, losses to the Warriors and Suns, but they can end it with a win tonight before heading back to Philly.

Joel Embiid has been fantastic over the past month, surpassing Nikola Jokic to become the frontrunner for the MVP and lead the Sixers to challenge for the top spot in the East.

The Sixers have lost their last 2 however, not due to Embiid’s lack of dominance but missing the playmaking of James Harden with Achilles soreness.

It is looking like Harden could possibly be back tonight as he was just spotted at Sixers shootaround, which would be a big boost for the Sixers.

The news of Harden possibly playing makes a big difference here but losing Embiid makes things very interesting.

The Sixers won this matchup in Philly in January on the back of massive performances from Embiid and Harden.

Missing Embiid tonight changes the entire dynamic of this game.

Instead of picking a side, give me the Under.

The Nuggets have gone under the total in 5 straight games and the Sixers have gone under in 3 of their last 5 as well.

The last matchup between these 2 went over, but Embiid had 47 points in that game. Hard to see this one going over with no Joel tonight.

The previous 7 matchups before the last one between these two teams went under and I expect another one tonight.

I was tempted to take Embiid in this matchup, which I also like but I am going to ride with the hot hand in MPJ and his shooting from deep.

Porter Jr. has made 3+ 3 pointers in 4 straight games and 6 of his last 7. He has been consistantly scoring in this Nuggets offense and likes to do damage from deep.

He hit 20 points in the last 2 matchups with the Sixers, and in both games had 5 3’s.

I love his regular line and when it becomes available for the ladder all the way up to 5+, I will be taking that as well.

MPJ had 5+ 3’s in the last 2 games against the Sixers like I mentioned and has 5+ 3’s in 3 of his last 6 games.

Stay hot, MPJ!
