Two of the biggest centers in the NBA going head to head for the first time since 2024. I'm incredibly excited for this matchup. The San Antonio Spurs host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight down in Texas and you know what they say about Texas.
'Everything's bigger in Texas'… even the Frenchman.
Let's jump straight into it.

Analysis & Breakdown

(Mojo) JoJo
This 76ers team will only go as far as Joel Embiid can take them. The team is 24-13 with him in the lineup and their offensive output jumps nearly 7-points with him on the floor this year.
Without Joel, the Sixers average just 113.0 points per game and their offensive rating drops to 114.3 with him off the floor. The team averages just 113.0 points per game without Embiid in the lineup and we saw that on full display against the Detroit Pistons.
Without Embiid the offense dries up and it's why the team managed just 93 points in that game against Detroit. Tonight the Sixers will lineup against the (probable) DPOY and one of the best defenses in the league. They're in need of wins if they hope to sneak outside of the play-in tournament and a win tonight would go a long way.
Against similar top-10 defenses, when Joel's in the lineup the offense still thrives. Embiid's also coming off one of his worst shooting nights of the year and looking to help his team secure a spot in the postseason. I'm expecting a big game from both Frenchmen tonight.
The Extraterrestrial
The San Antonio Spurs are 2nd in the Western Conference, they've won 24 of their last 27 games and are coming off their first loss the beginning of March. They've got an average margin of victory of +8.1 and that jumps to +9.2 when favored this year.
Wembanyama's not playing more than 30 minutes because he doesn't have to. Tonight's game however, feels like it could be different. The Philadelphia 76ers have been so much better with Joel Embiid in the lineup and it's because of how much he does for their offense.
The Spurs are coming off their first loss since early March and have won 24 of their last 27 games overall. The teams on a generational run and now heading into the playoffs I'm sure they'd like to avoid anymore hiccups.
Monday Night's Best Bets

Victor Wembanyama o41.5 P/R (-105) | Lucky Rebel
This one's chalky, so I won't waste too much time pitching it. Victor Wembanyama is something we've never seen before and his play this year has put it on full display. The 7'4 Frenchman is averaging 24.9 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this year. He's doing all of this and still not playing 30 minutes per game.
If the Sixers can just keep this game within 15 points, Wemby should see close to 32-34 minutes tonight. These two have faced off twice in Wembanyama's career, one of which was Joel's 70-point game.
Wembanyama's coming off three straight games of 34+ points and 15+ rebounds. He recently became the only Spur to ever record back to back 40/15 games and thats especially significant on a team like the Spurs.
Tonight feels like the perfect spot for Wembanyama to exact some revenge.

Joel Embiid o1.5 3s (-110) | Lucky Rebel
Like I said above, Embiid's career high in points came against this 7'4 Alien in San Antonio. He took just two 3s in that game and got to the free throw line for 23 free throw attempts. He took 41 shots in that game but only two came from beyond the arc.
While that does make me a little hesitant, it's hard to ignore Joel's recent play. He's looking a lot more comfortable from the 3-point line and we've seen a significant jump in his volume too. In his last five games, Embiid's averaging just under 6 3-point attempts per game and he's shooting 41% from outside.
He's cleared this line in six of his last 10 games overall and his shooting percentage jumps to 45%. Opposing centers just take more 3-point attempts against Wembanyama and tonight it feels like Embiid's turn to splash a few from beyond the arc.
