With the regular season ending on Sunday, you'd think we have a clearer outlook on this year's playoff picture. You'd be wrong. Two games left and we have no clue where anyone's going to end up. Tonight the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Atlanta Hawks with both team's still playing to solidify their standing.

Let's jump right into it.

The Hawks have the 3rd best record in the NBA, post All-Star break. The team ranks 9th in offensive rating during that time, 2nd in defensive rating and 4th in net rating. The Hawks are holding opponents to 109.5 points per game (9th) since the break and a lot of it has to do with their improvement on the perimeter.

Atlanta's giving up the third fewest 3s in the last two months and holding opponents to just 34.1% from beyond the arc. Offensively the team's lead by Jalen Johnson. He's averaging career highs across the board and he's evolved into one of the best point forwards in the NBA.

In just his fifth year in the NBA, Johnson leads the Hawks in points, rebounds and assists. He's shooting 48.8% from the field this year and has done a great job of getting to the line for 5.3 free throw attempts per contest.

Atlanta looks like a team figuring it out at the perfect time and they've got the depth needed to compete in the playoffs. The Hawks signed Nickeil Alexander-Walker and proceeded to watch him take over as the team's second leading scorer.

Atlanta traded for CJ McCollum at the deadline and after some initial growing pains; the team's gone 18-6 with CJ in the starting lineup. They've drafted well, they've made great acquisitions and now the Hawks are looking to compete and compete right now.

Cleveland is the Reason

The Cavaliers have gone 19-6 with James Harden in the lineup and have the third best record in the NBA since trading for him. The team ranks 4th in offensive rating, scoring 121.1 points per 100 possessions since the trade happened. In games with Harden, the team averages 119.3 points per game and the entire team shoots 49.3% from the field.

The team pre-Harden was shooting just over 47% from the field, below 35% from beyond the arc and it's clear how much of an impact the veteran guard's had on the offense. The Cavaliers will be without both Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen tonight, which should open up opportunities for others on this Cavaliers team.

These two teams just played each other on Wednesday, with Cleveland getting the home win 122-116. Tonight the games in Atlanta and both teams still in need of a win to help them finish as high as possible in the Eastern Conference.

Friday Night's Best Bets

Nickeil Alexander-Walker o21.5 Points (-104) | Lucky Rebel

We've bet him in back to back games now and he's come through for us in back to back games. Alexander-Walker has played 39 minutes in back to back games and Head Coach Quinn Snyder seems more than happy leaning on the young guard.

He's averaging 20.9 points per game in his first year as a full time starter. Alexander-Walker's shooting 39.9% from beyond the arc he's been Atlanta's most consistent shooter. He's cleared this line in two of three against the Cavaliers this year and I'm projecting high minutes/usage for NAW tonight.

The Cavaliers rank 25th in points allowed to opposing shooting guards. They're also giving up the 3rd highest rate of 3-point shots over the last two weeks (45.5%) and allowing opponents to shot 39.0% from out there.

Dennis Schröder Props

With no lines available as of right now, you'll have to look closer to tip off; but I love Dennis Schröder today. Since arriving in Cleveland, he's played six games without Mitchell. He's averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game in these six games.

Dennis also happened to start his career with the Atlanta Hawks, playing his first five seasons here in Georgia. Last time he was here he was still with the Pistons and he scored 16 points off the bench and dished out 7 assists. He's played the Hawks once since being traded, playing 15 minutes off the bench and scoring just 5 points on 50% from the field.

Be on the look out for Dennis props tonight, I'll be eagerly searching.
