Prediction

We should have a good ones on our hands to close out the NBA slate in Portland tonight.

Both of these teams have lost 3 of their last 4 games and are both either at .500 or are hovering right under .500.

In many ways, they mirror each other, as in they rely on their high scoring backcourt duos to carry the load and out pace the other team.

Dame Lillard and Anfernee Simons for the Blazers and Trae Young and DeJounte Murray for the Hawks.

Trae Young (ankle) questionable for Monday.

It is worth noting that as of this writing, Trae Young is questionable with an ankle injury. If Young doesn't play, this game script could change.

I am writing this with the assumption Young does suit up.

Given the offensive firepower of each team and the lack of defensive presence, I like the over in this matchup.

Both teams are in the bottom half of the league for defensive ratings and the top half of the league in offensive rankings.

4 of the last 7 combined games that these 2 teams have played have gone over the 237.5 total and I don't see that trend breaking tonight.

Give me the over and a fun, offensive game on the West Coast to close out the night.

I had every intention of taking Dame in this spot but his points line is 33.5 and I like the matchup for Simons better.

The Hawks are by far the worst team against the shooting guard, allowing 34 PPG to opposing SGs.

Simons hasn't been great the past 5 games statistically, but is always capable of popping off in any given game and this feels like a night where he gets going early.

Obviously Dame will have plenty of chances to get his points as well, and will probably go over his line.

But with the lower number, in the best possible matchup, I am going to roll with Simons.
