Both of these teams have the playoff in their sights as we glide into the last 2 weeks of the regular season.
The Nuggets are sitting in 1st place, with a 3 game lead on the 2nd place Grizzlies. A few more big wins in the last 2 weeks and the Nuggets will be the champions of the West.
That may not come tonight, though, as MVP candidate Nikola Jokic is questionable yet again with a calf problem and is looking unlikely to play once again tonight.
NBA INJURY ALERT: Nuggets C Nikola Jokic (calf), PG Jamal Murray (injury management), SF Michael Porter Jr. (injury management) and SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (illness) are listed questionable for tonight's game vs. the Suns. pic.twitter.com/SjiA1NVMZX
It is looking more and more like the Nuggets might be taking this game off, and gearing up for the last 5 games of the season without taking even the slightest risk.
For the Suns, this game is a big chance to grab another win and further their top 4 position and almost guarantee to not have to play in a play-in game.
The Suns are 2.5 games ahead of the 7th place Pelicans and a few more big wins would stamp their top 6 place.
They have a big opportunity tonight against this resting Nuggets squad and I think they take it.
10 points is a big spread but with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant set to suit up and play I expect a big win tonight for the Suns at home.
