Dodgers vs. Rockies: The Dodgers enter tonight looking to bounce back after a shocking walk-off loss to the Rockies in game one. Despite an early lead, Los Angeles failed to deliver in the first five innings, leaving runs on the table.
Tonight, they face another favorable matchup against a struggling left-hander in Coors Field. With the Rockies allowing nearly five runs per first five at home, the Dodgers have the perfect setup to strike early.

Last night, the most thrilling team in baseball pulled off a miraculous comeback, walking off the Dodgers on a single from rookie Warming Bernabel. The Dodgers enter tonight with a chip on their shoulder, looking to bounce back in game two.
Despite Los Angeles coming up short for us in the first five innings last night, managing only two runs, the Dodgers get another shot at revenge against yet another struggling left-handed pitcher. That is why we are running back the same play as yesterday: Dodgers first five team total over 3.5, priced at -130.
Yes, it is heavily juiced for a play that demands plenty in the first five innings, but this is the Dodgers. Colorado is nearly allowing five runs in the first five at home, so the number makes sense. The line was always going to be set at 3.5, so I simply needed to love the matchup enough to pay the price tag.
Dodgers vs. Gomber
Los Angeles faces Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber, who owns the worst pitcher rating on Batters-Box. His marks in matchup wOBA, ISO, hard contact, strikeout percentage, and ground ball percentage are all poor.
The 31-year-old has been dreadful in Coors Field this season, posting a 7.11 ERA while surrendering 8 hits and 4.2 runs per start. Opponents are batting .354 against him at home. Over his last five outings, he owns a 7.96 ERA, 5.53 xERA, and 5.16 xFIP, while allowing a .291 xBA, .543 xSLG, and .377 xwOBA.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers enter with the highest rated offense on the slate. Their lineup features five elite rated hitters, none above the league strikeout rate, and only one above the league ground ball rate.
Over the last two weeks, Los Angeles ranks fifth in wRC+, wOBA, and OPS across the league, while placing third in both hard-hit rate and barrel rate.
Yes, the Dodgers are not the strongest first five scoring team on the road, averaging only 2.38 runs in that span. However, Colorado is allowing 4.51 runs at home, giving us the perfect setup for this play.
With how poor this Rockies rotation is, expect to see me targeting them all series long. Even if it does not cash every time, I know I am on the right side. Trust the number and root for runs.
