Michigan's regulated online gaming market surpassed $340 million in gross revenue during June 2026. The result highlighted strong iGaming growth despite a sharp decline among sports betting operators.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported $341.3 million in combined gross receipts. Online casino gaming generated $301.2 million, while sports betting contributed $40.1 million.

After adjustments, the market produced $309.4 million in gross receipts. The latest results show the growing importance of Michigan gambling within the broader US gaming market. They also highlight the contrasting performance of US online casinos and US online sportsbooks.

Michigan iGaming Drives June's Online Gaming Revenue

Michigan's iGaming market remained the main growth provider for June's overall results. The segment generated $301.2 million in gross receipts, marking a 25.2% year-over-year increase.

According to MGCB reports, iGaming in Michigan accrued $289.2 million in adjusted gross receipts. That figure represented a 28% increase compared with June 2025.

The market did decline 1.5% from May's adjusted gross receipts. Still, the year-over-year growth shows that Michigan's online casino sector continues to expand.

Michigan also collected $60.8 million in iGaming taxes and fees during June. That figure significantly exceeded the $1.5 million generated by online sports betting.

The latest numbers show why US online casinos remain important revenue generators. Online casino activity tends to deliver more consistent results throughout the year.

Sports betting, by contrast, depends heavily on sporting schedules, wagering volumes, and operator hold.

Wolverine State's iGaming Growth Remains Consistent in 2026

Michigan's iGaming growth has remained consistent throughout the first half of 2026. June marked the fourth consecutive month with revenue above $300 million.

The state generated $298.3 million in January and $273.1 million in February. March then produced a record $322.1 million.

April followed with $303.4 million, while May reached $305.8 million. June then generated $301.2 million, extending the four-month run above $300 million.

The market also benefited from newer operators entering the competitive landscape. Hard Rock Bet and bet365 both helped strengthen Michigan's online casino market.

Together, the two operators generated $29.2 million in June revenue. Their growth helped Michigan close the gap with Pennsylvania, the leading US online casino market.

Michigan generated $1.80 billion in iGaming revenue during the first six months of 2026. The state therefore remains on pace to surpass its $3.09 billion annual record from 2025.

June's total also brought Michigan's lifetime online casino revenue close to $12 billion. The state is expected to pass that milestone when July figures arrive.

US Online Sportsbooks Suffer a Sharp June Decline

US online sportsbooks delivered a much weaker performance across Michigan during June. The segment generated $40.1 million in gross receipts.

Adjusted gross receipts reached only $20.2 million. That represented a 33.9% year-over-year decline.

The figure also dropped 13.4% compared with May. Meanwhile, Michigan's online sports betting handle fell 20% to $366.1 million.

The decline reflected lower wagering activity and stronger customer outcomes. When bettors win more frequently, sportsbooks retain less revenue from their betting volume.

The reduced handle also limited tax contributions. Michigan collected just $1.5 million in sports betting taxes and fees during June.

Therefore, the results show the volatility affecting US online sportsbooks. Sports betting revenue can shift sharply based on sporting events and betting patterns.

Michigan's June figures also followed a broader trend across major regulated US markets. Online casino revenue continued growing, while sports betting faced tougher comparisons and weaker monthly performance.

Michigan Challenges Other Leading US iGaming States

Michigan continues to hold a strong position among the leading US states with legal online casino markets. Pennsylvania remains the national leader, but Michigan is steadily closing the gap.

Pennsylvania generated $303.1 million in iGaming revenue during June. Michigan finished only $1.9 million behind its rival.

That represented the closest monthly gap between the two states. Michigan also continues to outperform other major markets in year-over-year growth.

Through the first five months of 2026, Michigan's iGaming revenue increased by more than 20% each month. Pennsylvania and New Jersey generally recorded lower annual growth rates during the same period.

June continued that trend with Michigan posting 25.2% gross revenue growth. The state therefore remains one of the strongest performers among legal US online casinos.

Michigan's results suggest the market could challenge Pennsylvania for the national revenue lead. The Wolverine State still faces strong competition, but its growth rate gives it a clear opportunity.

As Michigan gambling continues expanding, iGaming remains the market's strongest foundation. The June results also show how online casinos can offset weaker sports betting performance.
