Games Global Enters Alberta iGaming Market

industry

Games Global has entered Alberta's regulated iGaming market as the province expands its online gambling sector.

The gaming supplier received approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). This approval allows Games Global to distribute its content through Alberta's regulated market.

Alberta launched its competitive iGaming market on July 13, 2026. The opening introduced 22 registered sites and created a new commercial market for private operators.

The market could generate about C$390 million in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) during its first year. The figure represents estimated revenue generated by operators after player winnings are deducted.

Meanwhile, the Alberta government expects to retain about C$76 million in net provincial revenue. That figure reflects the province's 20% share of net iGaming revenue under its commercial framework.

Games Global Adds Casino Content

Games Global will bring several established titles to Alberta players following its regulatory approval.

Its portfolio includes Gold Blitz, 12 Masks of Fire, and Fishin' Pots of Gold. The supplier will also provide live casino content through OnAir Entertainment, its exclusive live casino partner in Canada.

The launch gives Alberta operators another established content supplier as competition develops across the province.

The market also has significant potential for regulated operators and suppliers. Before launch, around 70% of Alberta's online gambling activity occurred through unregulated platforms.

That figure highlights the scale of the opportunity for companies entering Alberta. The provincial framework aims to move more existing online gambling activity into regulated channels.

Leveraging Ontario Momentum for Alberta Growth

Games Global already maintains a presence in Ontario, Canada's first competitive regulated iGaming market.

The supplier said its content has resonated with Ontario players. It now expects that experience to support its Alberta launch.

"The opening of Alberta's iGaming market is an exciting opportunity for Games Global," said Mark MacCombie, the company's chief commercial officer.

"We have already established a strong presence in Ontario, where our content has proven resonant with players, and we are confident Alberta will build on this momentum."

The move gives Games Global access to another regulated Canadian market. It also allows the company to build on an established regional operating strategy.

Expanding North American Partnerships

Games Global is also pursuing wider growth across regulated North American markets.

The company has developed relationships with operators across Canada and the United States. It recently expanded its relationship with DraftKings to include the CASHINGO franchise.

MacCombie said North America remains central to Games Global's commercial strategy.

"North America remains a key strategic focus for us," MacCombie said.

"We will continue to work closely with both our valued operator partners and our exclusive studios to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to players across the continent's regulated markets."

That approach places Alberta alongside the company's other regulated North American markets.

Alberta Gambling Market Attracts Suppliers

Games Global now joins suppliers targeting Alberta gambling customers through the province's regulated framework.

The market's projected financial performance offers a substantial commercial incentive. Operators could generate approximately C$390 million in first-year GGR, according to market estimates.

The government expects to retain around C$76 million from its 20% share. The framework also directs portions of gaming revenue toward First Nations initiatives and responsible gambling programs.

For Games Global, the timing provides access to a market designed to regulate existing online gambling demand.

The company can now distribute established casino content while pursuing relationships with licensed Alberta operators. At the same time, its Ontario experience gives it a foundation for navigating Canada's regulated iGaming landscape.

Games Global's Alberta entry therefore expands its Canadian footprint while adding another important market to its North American strategy.
