This 2nd half of the season is going to be treated like a new one for Miami. Bringing in Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have made this team more dangerous. These guys allow players like Josef Martinez and Leonardo Campana to become more open as we have seen.

During their League's Cup run, Miami beat Philadelphia Union, Nashville SC and FC Dallas. They just beat FC Cincinatti the other night as well, so they are beating some good teams already.

Can Inter Miami really become the team to beat?

Before signing Lionel Messi, Inter Miami was a 44-1 favorite to win the MLS Cup. Today, they sit at 7.5-1. We call this the Messi Effect.

Going into some of these games, you really didn't know what to expect. After watching a few, it's clear they enjoy playing together and the chemistry is high.

I really think this team can make a run for the cup. Not just because they brought in Messi, but because of what we're seeing. This team is jiving right now and I don't know who can stop them.

Miami sits 14 points out of the 9th seed, so it is doable for them to climb the table, especially if they keep winning like this. They have already proven they can beat some of the best teams in the league.

They do have a few tough matchups ahead against Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando City and FC Cincinatti. Out of those 4 specific matchups, they beat 3 of them, so expect to see some of the same.

These lines are interesting to me. It makes me feel like they are basing these lines off each teams' place in the standings. The Red Bulls aren't much better, so they have the slight edge.

I think the only edge that the Red Bulls have is the line. They are going to be completely out matched by this new Miami team.

Messi should have fun tonight. One thing I noticed in the League's Cup matches is the players are almost in awe of him.

You see him fly through everyone and everything as if they are just in amazement to watch him. And rightfully so. We all are in for such a treat the next few weeks as we witness history.
