Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos Jr. 2 Fight Betting: Will Haney handle Kambosos in Melbourne rematch?

Just four months after their first bout in Melbourne, Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. will meet once again in Melbourne with the lightweight belts on the line.
In June, Haney defeated Kambosos by unanimous decision at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, ending Kambosos’ unbeaten record and extending his own.
With the win, Haney retained his WBC lightweight title and snatched the IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight and WBA super lightweight belts Kambosos had claimed with his win over Teofimo Lopez last November.
Tonight (in U.S. time – afternoon in Australia), the hostilities will be renewed at a different venue, with the bout taking place at Rod Laver Arena. Will it be same city, different venue, same result, or will Kambosos upset the odds and rule the lightweight division again?

Haney heavily favored to win 29th straight bout
In the first bout, the judges’ scorecards read 116-112, 116-112, and 118-110 all in favor of Haney. who improved to 28-0 in his professional career.
Can Kambosos bounce back after his first loss in 21 professional fights? It’s certainly possible. After all, he was a big underdog against Lopez and scored a shock split-decision win to dethrone the then-champion at Madison Square Garden.
But he’ll need to do what he didn’t do in the first meeting to flip things in his favor in the rematch.
Kambosos (68 of 202, 33.8%) landed just one fewer power punch than Haney (69 of 255, 27.1%) and had a higher percentage on power punches. But as the numbers show, Haney went for those big blows more, and that ambition can often sway the judges in a tight contest.
Haney also had a huge advantage with jabs, landing 78 of 333 (23.4%) while Kambosos connected on only 32 of 215 (14.8%).
Overall, Haney held valuable advantages in punches thrown (588 to 417), punches landed (147 to 100), and percentage of punches landed (25% to 24%). If things play out that way again,
Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos Jr. Prediction and Picks
While this fight will be on Kambosos’ home turf again, there’s nothing to indicate that the rematch will go any differently than the first meeting four months ago.
To be honest, there is not a lot of great betting value to be found in this matchup if you are backing Haney, given how big of a favorite he is.
Haney has 15 knockouts in his professional career, but his last five fights have all been decided by the scorecards, and that is the likeliest outcome here.
I won’t ever recommend going wild with any bet around the -200s or shorter, but if you are going to back Haney, taking a points or decision win is the most sensible choice with both value and logic in mind.
