Tennessee Titans

2021 Record: 0-0

After playing in the franchise’s first AFC Championship Game since Steve McNair’s heyday in Nashville, the Tennessee Titans had another winning season in 2020. They finished 11-5 and won the AFC South for the first time since 2008. Playoff success was not to be this time around, as they went down in the wild-card round to the Baltimore Ravens, but the Titans are clearly a team on the rise. Will this season see them break through as a championship contender?

A big reason for that rise is superstar running back Derrick Henry, who ran for 2,027 yards last season to become the eighth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season. Henry was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year as a result. Henry has led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns each of the last two seasons, and he is the NFL betting odds favorite to do so yet again, ahead of Minnesota Vikings star Dalvin Cook.

The Titans also have an accomplished veteran quarterback in Ryan Tannehill and a talented defense that has rising talent at every level, from defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, to linebacker Harold Landry III, to safety Amani Hooker. And after adding one of the NFL’s best receivers in Julio Jones to pair with budding star A.J. Brown and making multiple veteran additions on defense in defensive end Denico Autry, linebacker Bud Dupree, and cornerback Janoris Jenkins, the ambitious Titans clearly have the AFC title and Super Bowl LVI in their sights–and in their reach.
