Simon Dupuis grew up in Montreal with harness racing in his blood. Saturday nights with his father at “Blue Bonnets” watching the standardbreds go, long before he ever placed a bet of his own. Though he loved the sport and the time with his dad, what really fascinated him were the numbers behind it. While other kids were memorizing driver names, Simon was already trying to figure out why the morning line never quite matched the real odds or the eventual winner. That love of numbers followed him to college where he studied statistics, in part because he wanted to bring real rigor to handicapping. After a few years in the banking sector, Simon made the jump and turned that statistical training into a full-time profession, building models that treat every card as a probability problem that can turn into cold hard cash.
