The UEFA Champions League is back today as we have nine matches across Europe to conclude the 2nd week of league phase play. We swept the board yesterday, including a nice (+350) winner in the Arsenal/PSG match, so today, we attack the board with the same fire, looking for our best bets. With nine matches on the board, we certainly will find some edges in the market.
Here are today’s matches, so let’s take a look and see if we can find any spots worth betting in the UEFA Champions League today.
- Girona vs Feyenoord Rotterdam
- Shakhtar Donetsk vs Atalanta
- Aston Villa vs Bayern Munich
- Benfica vs Atlético Madrid
- Dinamo Zagreb vs AS Monaco
- Lille vs Real Madrid
- Liverpool vs Bologna
- RB Leipzig vs Juventus
- SK Strum Graz vs Club Brugge
I’ve got a couple angles I am looking at, so below are my best bets in the UCL today. For our expert’s soccer picks, go to this page here!

Aston Villa vs Bayern Munich Best Bets
Best Bet: Munich ML/Under 3.5 (+196) Bovada
Going with another longshot parlay to start us off, I think Bayern wins this game on the road, but not without a struggle. Munich will more than likely be missing striker Harry Kane, who was injured against Leverkusen in their 1-1 draw last time out. While this does take away some offensive power, Bayern has plenty of it to go around, and should handle Villa who are playing their first home Champions League game since 1982.
Aston Villa already have a road win in the UCL, knocking off Young Boys 3-0 two weeks ago. Bayern destroyed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 at home, but again, are missing their top striker on the road today. In my mind, Villa should know they are outmatched, and thus will try to slow down the inevitable Munich attack. I think they have some success, but not enough to pull out a win at home.
Bayern is one of the best clubs in all of Europe, and have been for quite some time. After finally losing the Bundesliga last season, they will be coming with a vengeance in all competitions this year. They are 4-1-0 in league play this year, netting 26 goals and allowing just 6 in six competitions game. Give me Munich to win this match on the road at Villa Park.
Prediction: Bayern Munich Wins 3-0 (+1400)
Liverpool vs Bologna Best Bets
Best Bet: Liverpool TT Over 2.5 (-113) BetOnline
What’s this?! An Over on the Pitch?! Yes, yes, we are backing the boys in Red at Anfield tonight to find the back of the net plenty. Liverpool’s attack is in great form right now. They have won 7 of their 8 competition matches this season, scoring at least twice in all 7 of those wins. Sure, they laid a goose egg at home to Nottingham Forest, losing 1-nil, but since then they have looked incredible. Liverpool has won 4 straight matches, scoring 13 total goals and allowing just 3. This includes a 3-0 shutout win at home, and a 5-1 win against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool is playing great soccer, and in their first home Champions League match this year, I see them showing out for their fans. Bologna is just, eh. They’ve played 7 matches this season, winning one, losing one, and drawing in 5 of them. They certainly have not played anyone of Liverpool’s caliber this season, and they drew to Shakhtar Donetsk, nil-nil, in their last UCL matchup. When Bologna did go on the road to play a somewhat worthy opponent, they lost 3-0 to Napoli. I think we see something similar today with Liverpool.
I looked at Liverpool to Nil at around (-110), but decided I liked this more, so hopefully I don’t get burned if Liverpool wins 2-0 (+600).
Prediction: Liverpool Wins 3-0 (+650)
Benfica vs Atlético Madrid Best Bets
Best Bet: Atlético Draw No Bet (-105) BetOnline
This price is way too good to pass up for me. Atlético Madrid is playing like the 2nd best club in Spain, they battled their way to a UCL win at the final whistle two weeks ago, and even on the road, they are more talented than Benfica. Sure, Benfica is tearing up the Portuguese League, but they should be. The level of competition does not compare to a Top 5 European league, especially La Liga that is a madhouse right now.
With the way Atlético have been playing, I think they are capable of pulling off this road win. For nearly even money, we even get a push if they draw, but I trust their defense to hold Benfica scoreless, who struggled against Red Star Belgrade in their UCL opener. In this match, I am simply backing the better team at a great price, with plenty of push potential. We’ve got a low total for a reason, but I still see Atlético Madrid sneaking away with three more points.
Prediction: Atlético Madrid Wins 1-0 (+850)
