Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich UEFA Champions League Betting Insights

Manuel Neuer has allowed just seven goals with two clean sheets in the UCL this season - Real Madrid Bayern Munich Picks

Manuel Neuer has allowed just seven goals with two clean sheets in the UCL this season

Again, today is just the first leg of these competitions, so this specific match will only go 90 minutes no matter the result. Both teams are scoring at will, but the back lines have been rock solid as well. It's been almost two years since these clubs met in the UEFA Champions League, and Real Madrid got the last laugh last time.

Back in 2024, the two met in the UCL Semifinals. In the first leg in Germany, the squads played to a 2-2 draw, but Real Madrid found a way to win at home in the second leg, 2-1. They went on to win the UCL Title. Will the German visitors be playing with an extra chip on their shoulder because of this? Let's look at the betting odds and see what our analysts like in this match.

Best Bet: Real Madrid/Bayern Munich 1H Under 1.5 (-121) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Real Madrid has played two extra matches in the UCL as they had to clear the Knockout Round before making the Round of 16. Despite playing two less games, Real Madrid has just one less assist and three less goals than Bayern, but you could argue they have played stiffer competition. Ultimately, I give the nod to the hosts in this match, and I expect them to be extra aggressive in trying to build an aggregate lead before going on the road next week.

However, Bayern Munich has allowed just 10 goals in 10 matches. Their back line is one of the best in the entire world, especially as they have allowed multiple goals just once over their past six matches. But Real Madrid knows how to score, and this Spanish side could be a bit more worried about trying to compete with Barcelona in the La Liga. Could that pull some of their focus away from this competition? Highly doubtful.

But either way, I see this being low scoring, at least in the first 45 minutes. Yes, these teams do start off hot from time to time, but both managers respect the other's attacking power and will look to limit it early. I see both teams playing possession for the first half of this match, making the adjustments at the break, and then trying to find a way to win in the second half. We can survive with just one ball finding the back of the net early, but I could see this being a scoreless first 45 minutes.

Prediction: 0-0 1H Draw (+350)
