Today we have two MLS matches that standalone for season pass viewers. First up, the New England Revolution host Messi and Inter Miami who are playing their second league match since the FIFA Club World Cup. Then later out west, LAFC takes on the Colorado Rapids at BMO Stadium. Let's get into our best MLS picks for tonight.

Major League Soccer: Wednesday's Predictions July 9

New England Revolution vs. Inter Miami: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Under 3.5 (-128) BetOnline

Although Inter Miami has netted 40 goals this year and is coming off a four-goal performance, we will back the under here. Inter Miami has won three straight matches in the MLS, netting 13 total goals against Montreal (twice) and Columbus. But neither have a defense like New England.

The Revolution have been less than impressive, going 0-1-3 in their last four matches, but all have been against top competition. They lost to FC Cincinnati (No. 1 in East), Nashville SC (No. 2 in East), and the Portland Timbers (No. 4 in West). The point is, they are battle tested and only allowing 1.21 goals per match this season.

I trust the hosts to come into this game fearful of Inter Miami's attack. This should cause them to completely abandon any offensive plan, and instead brace for the attack they know is coming. I trust them to hold on enough to keep this match low scoring, but not enough for them to win.

Inter Miami's ML price at +144 is very tempting for those wanting to back a side, and Miami ML/Under 3.5 is +320 for the real degenerates out there.

Prediction: Inter Miami Wins 2-0 (+1500)

LAFC vs. Colorado Rapids: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Colorado Rapids +1.5 (-128) BetOnline

We already saw these teams play twice in February in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Colorado won 2-1 when they hosted the first leg, with LAFC winning 1-0 the next week at home, advancing on away goals. They have not yet met this MLS season.

LAFC is a clear favorite for a reason, simply for the star power they have compared to the Rapids, but I'll tell ya, it's taking a lot outta me to lay off the draw at over 4-1. Before I continue, if you want a gnarly 90-minute sweat, go ahead and book that now for +402 at BetOnline.

The double chance is also tasty at +195, however I don't have much faith in the Rapids winning. I do have faith in them keeping it close, which is why I went with the +1.5. We can afford a one-goal loss, giving us room for cushion, as I don't see the hosts running away with this match.

Give me a low-scoring affair, which should keep the Rapids within one goal on the scoreboard.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+900)
