Major League Soccer: Friday's Predictions July 4

I know it's America's Birthday, and there's plenty of MLB action to celebrate the nation's past time. But here we will focus on the "World's Game" in North America with some MLS matches this evening.

FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Minnesota Team Total Over 1.5 (+100) BetOnline

We're going to back the Minnesota offense on the road tonight, so let's get into it. For starters, Minnesota will essentially be back to full strength, with leading goal scorer, Tani Oluwaseyi and starting goalkeeper, Dayne St. Claire, returning from international duty.

FC Dallas is coming off two home losses, allowing their visitors to net three and four goals in back to back contests. These teams played to a scoreless draw much earlier in the season, and now I see Minnesota laying the hammer down and finding the back of the net.

The hosts have allowed 12 total goals in their past four matches to opponents, which is not going to get the job done against a team sitting third in the Western Conference standings. The Loons are scoring 1.65 goals per match, and FC Dallas is conceding closer to 1.84.

Tonight I see Minnesota winning, so feel free to take their ML at (+144) or their draw no bet line at (-130), but I'll stick with the even money for just two goals.

Prediction: Minnesota United Wins 3-1 (+1500)

LA Galaxy vs. Vancouver Whitecaps: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Vancouver Draw No Bet (+115) BetOnline

Taking the better team for plus money and push potential is a no brainer here. Is this line fishy? Absolutely. Should the Galaxy somehow be favored in this match? Probably not.

This number stinks to high heaven, but I'll take the bait and hope it works out. Vancouver is the third highest scoring offense in the Western Conference, and sits just one point being San Diego on the table. The Galaxy are dead last in the conference, and have only won once this season.

The Whitecaps are coming off an away win against the other team from Los Angeles, LAFC, and now I see them picking up another three points to keep up in the standings. Plain and simple, give me the better team tonight.

Prediction: Vancouver Whitecaps Win 2-0 (+1500)
