Saturday's English Premier League action gets started right away with a couple of name brand clubs going head to head at arguably the most historic venue in England. We head to Old Trafford for this 7:30 a.m. eastern kick off on Saturday as Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur for their second EPL meeting of the season. Last time, we saw a 2-2 draw between the teams, will things be different this time around? Let's get into our favorite picks and find out.

These teams saw each other three times during the 2025 calendar year, but have only met once this competition season so far. Back in February of 2025, Tottenham beat Manchester United at home, 1-0, to complete the EPL season sweep. A few months later in May, they met in the UEFA Europa League Final, where again, Tottenham was victorious, winning 1-0. Finally, this past November they played for the first time of this EPL season, where we saw a 2-2 draw.
In that match, United led most of the way, as they found a goal in the 32nd minute. It wasn't until there were less than 10 minutes left in regulation time when the Spurs found an equalizer, and things looked as if they'd end in a 1-1 draw. However, Richarlison scored the go ahead goal in the first minute of stoppage time, but the visitors didn't give up. Matthijs de Ligt saved the day for Manchester United, scoring in the 90'+6′ in order to earn a draw. What will happen as the teams meet again?

Back Manchester United to get the job done in a low scoring match on Saturday at home

Manchester United are much higher up on the EPL table. They currently sit in fourth place, just five points behind Aston Villa and a single point ahead of Chelsea, and two points ahead of Liverpool. That puts them in a UEFA Champions League qualifying position if things hold, but with 14 matches to go, earning any points will be crucial to maintain that spot. As for the Spurs, they are No. 14 on the table, with 29 total points. They are nine points safe from relegation and should be able to maintain that lead, but they also have to worry about this season's UCL. Tottenham has plenty of time before they take the field again in the Champions League, but they are in a good position after finishing fourth on the table. United has a slight advantage in this specific match, as all their focus can be on domestic league matches.
United also have a revenge factor on their side, as they have not beaten the Spurs in eight straight head to head contests. Plus, they were blanked 3-0 by Tottenham last year at Old Trafford. Surely the hosts will want to put on a show for their home crowd, and I believe it starts with the backline. In the previous meeting this year, we saw four total goals, but two came in stoppage and one came in the final six minutes of regulation. There were only six shots on target, 15 total shots and eight corner kicks between the two clubs.
In this second meeting, defense should be of the utmost importance for both clubs in this match, but I think United are playing with too big of a chip on their shoulder to lose.
