We've got a star studded showdown across the pond to start off our Sunday morning, as Liverpool hosts Manchester City at Anfield. The Reds are on top of the English Premier League as it currently stands, but there are plenty more matches to completely settle the table.
But, Liverpool is red hot. They are 10-1-1 in EPL play this season, and are unbeaten in their last 15 matches in all competitions since their home loss to Nottingham Forest. They were embarrassed at home, and since then have handled business, winning 14 matches and drawing once to Arsenal on the road. But can they take down the 4 time defending EPL Champions?
Manchester City is floundering. They are severely missing Rodri in the midfield, and with other injuries as well, the team has been sliding in the wrong direction. City has not won a match since their 1-0 victory over Southhampton on October 26th. They went the entire calendar month of November without a win, and to be honest, I do not like their chances against Liverpool.
However, let's dive in and see if our mind is swayed the other way.

Like I said, Manchester City is not in good form. They have lost 5 matches and drawn once in the past month, and they have a very tall task against a Liverpool squad that is primed and ready to roll.
Manchester City has allowed 2+ goals in six straight matches, being outscored 17-7 during that stretch. The Reds are not a team you want to mess with right now. They've not only been beating their opponents, they've been striking fear into their hearts. In their 15 game unbeaten streak, Liverpool has had some big wins over big name teams.

All of those Liverpool victories were at home, and in fact, those are the scores from their three most recent matches at Anfield. In front of their home crowd again this weekend, I see this team handling Manchester City. They are not producing offense like they normally do, and they are getting absolutely no help from the back line. This match is Liverpool's to lose, especially at Anfield, and assuming they don't underestimate Manchester City (who would do that?), they should be fine for three points.

We are getting Liverpool at home for plus money. At this point in the season, with the way they have been playing, I am taking this bet every single time regardless of their opponent. Sure, Jurgen Klopp is not in charge, and Pep is still leading Manchester City. But I like what Arne Slot has done in his first year at the helm of this club, and things are clearly working for them.
Overall, Liverpool is in much better form, they are healthier, and being at home against a floundering opponent always helps. I do not expect this line to be here when we wake up tomorrow or when lineups are announced, so I would advise you to take this bet tonight if I've convinced you to press the button.
