They struggled a bit against Alajuelense, but won the other two matches by at least three goals on aggregate score. Back the hosts to put the ball in the back of the net tonight. We don't need them to win, but I have a feeling that scoring two goals should be enough to get the job done. Regardless, this is the first leg of the competition, so LAFC (and Toluca) will be highly motivated to score as much as possible and build a substantial aggregate lead going into next week's match.

Sure, LAFC have failed to score twice in five straight games, netting just four total goals during that stretch. However, Toluca's defense has been questionable. They are coming off beating León by a score of 4-1 at home, but in their last two on the road, they've lost to Mazatlán FC 4-3 (who are third worst in Liga MX currently) and to Club América 2-1, who are further down on the table than Toluca. Point being, on the road, they certainly concede plenty.

Enter LAFC, who are already netting 1.7 goals per match in the MLS, with that number jumping to 2.17 when playing at BMO Stadium. All we need is for them to have an "average" game, and we should get over the hump. Either way, I really like the way LAFC has been playing, despite their recent struggles. I see this being a perfect match for them to get back on track.
