Our final EURO 2024 Quarterfinal match happens between the Netherlands and Turkey this afternoon. This is easily the most lopsided matchup this round has seen, with the Dutch being -370 favorites to move on to the Semifinals. However, Turkey has been in this spot before.
They were huge underdogs against Austria in their Round of 16 bout, and look who came out on top? The Turks had to play a tough 90+ minutes against Austria, defending the offensive onslaught with everything they had, including an incredible save at the last moment that certainly kept their EURO hopes alive.
Let’s dive into Turkey vs the Netherlands!

Could This Be the Year of the Dutch?
Just looking at these lines makes me think Vegas knows the Dutch dominate today. They knew they had an “easier” path to the Semifinals, and they did not beat around the bush against Romania. Despite leading just 1-0 for most of the match, the Dutch turned it on later, netting two goals in the last 10 minutes of the match.
Now, personally, I think the Netherlands have looked like the best team in the tournament, besides Spain. Their backline has been rock solid, their offense is more than capable of creating dangerous chances, and their strikers and wingers are putting the balls in the back of the net. Turkey doesn’t play much defense, as they’ve conceded a goal in every match played so far this tournament.
While the Dutch offense hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, I fully expect them to come prepared and ready to take down their Turkish opponent. I think this back line is solid, and although it may be an offensive-minded game from both sides, you know me, and I’ve got to side with defense.

I don’t necessarily think the Dutch blow out Turkey, but I think it could be slightly one sided. As mentioned, Turkey plays little defense, and the Netherlands will certainly take advantage of it. I see their wingers having a hay day running up and down the sidelines, feeding balls into the box for Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay. While I couldn’t get behind the Dutch scoring 2 or more for sure, I am confident that their defense steps up.
Turkey will certainly give it their all, and the Dutch watched Austria have to play from behind against them, a situation they will need to avoid. Because of this, I could see the Dutch being slightly conservative for the first 45 minutes before really bringing the heat in the second half. Give me the Dutch in a shutout for this price.
