Last year, the Arsenal Gunners finally ended their EPL Title drought that lasted over two decades, coming up just short in the UEFA Champions League Final on top of it. At least they got one trophy. Now their quest to repeat as champions of England begins at home on Friday, as they get to murder one of the new kids on the block, Coventry City. Arsenal was so good last year, winning the entire EPL by seven points. They posted at 26-7-5 record, and a +44 goal differential en route to their first league title since 2004. There is a clear target on their backs, as oddsmakers have set them as the favorite to win again this year, priced around +140. But they are that big of a favorite for a reason, as we saw when they annihilated Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield. They are ready to roll.
Last year, the Gunners were 15-2-2 at Emirates Stadium in domestic play, posting 10 shutouts as well. A popular bet of mine last season when Arsenal was at home, was to take them on the moneyline with an inflated under, either 3.5 or 4.5, whatever got me to plus money or something playable. Those bets would've hit in 12/19 (63.2%) home matches last year, and again, typically that bet had a plus sign. I see no reason why we don't go right back to it to kick things off.

So here's the thing. Yes, I have this wager for a unit, but I also have a unit on "Ole Reliable", which is the Gunners ML and under 3.5 for even money, as the under 4.5 was -182. Hoping for a couple of bangs to start the year.
Again, Arsenal was so good, and they didn't lose anyone major. Leandro Trossard only made 21 starts, and added just six goals and six assists. This attack is still one of the strongest (if not, THE strongest) in the entire EPL, and the back line is certainly the best. They allowed just 27 goals last year, good for 0.71 per match, eight less than second place. That number dropped to 0.58 per match at home, allowing 11 total goals across all 19 matches. The Gunners only allowed multiple goals twice. Adding Bruno Guimarães in the midfield helps them on both sides of the pitch, as he can add to the attack but also defends box to box.
Even with my two other wagers, I also endorse Arsenal to Win to Nil at -118. See if you can find a slightly better number, but I'll opt for the spread at almost even money, as well as our same game parlay instead. Coventry City won the English League Championship decidedly last season, but now they are playing with the big boys, and they are getting thrown directly into the fire to kick things off. Netting a goal here would be a victory. Earning a point might be the biggest moment in recent club history, besides earning promotion back into the Prem. I doubt either happen.
Prediction: Arsenal Wins 3-0 (+550)
