English Premier League Preview: Thursday December 28, 2023

We have a 2-game slate this afternoon and it's a nice little snack. Tottenham will be facing Brighton and Arsenal will host West Ham United. Two of these teams, Tottenham and Arsenal, have jumped around the top of the table all season. They will look to continue their success today.

Arsenal (12-4-2) is in the 2nd spot on the table with 40 points, just 2 points behind league leader Liverpool. Tottenham (11-3-4) since falling from 1st sits in 4th with 36 points. West Ham (9-3-6) is in the 7th spot 30 points and Brighton (7-6-5) is 9th with 27 points.

Having games all week is such a treat. We have another packed weekend of games. We're going to get into today's games picks and odds, but let's take a look at the weekend slate.

Just to highlight a few games, we have Manchester City taking on Sheffield United at home. Aston Villa, who is 3rd on the table, will host Burnley in what should be an easy game for Aston Villa. Manchester United sits in 6th and is just hanging on. They will take on Nottingham Forest in a game that is a much-needed win.

The 2 teams we're about to get into, Tottenham and Arsenal, will both play again on Sunday. The weekend will cap off with Liverpool hosting Newcastle.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Prediction, Odds and Picks

Prediction and Pick: Heung-Min Son 1+ Shot on Target & BTTS (-110)

The books have this line much closer than I expected. I honestly thought Tottenham would've been favored more, but here we are. They are coming in on a 3-game winning streak and will be looking to keep that momentum going.

Being at home, Brighton will put up a fight. Let's face it, soccer is probably the hardest sport to play on the road due to the size of the crowds. Not sure how much it will get to the Spurs which is why I'm not taking a side here.

I think both teams find the back of the net. Tottenham has allowed a goal in 8 out of their last 10 games. I feel like the home team will get the boost to score at least once. For the Spurs, they have plenty of offensive power to get their goal.

Son is the captain and leader of Tottenham. He'll be out there right in the thick of things and I wouldn't be surprised if he scores or assists on a goal (it's +100 for a sprinkle), but he'll get this shot on target for us. This is nice value for 2 very doable plays.

Arsenal vs West Ham United Prediction, Odds and Picks

Prediction and Pick: Total Goals Over 2.5 + BTTS (-106)

Arsenal has been hanging right at the top of the table all year. This should be a great momentum game for them playing West Ham at home. The gunners are coming off a draw but are 3-1-1 in their last 5 games.

West Ham is coming in on a 2-game win streak, but I think it ends today. Arsenal has been playing well all season and are the better team to hold West Ham off. Arsenal handles the ball well with passing and ranks in the top 10 of the league in shots and shots on target.

At home, I see Arsenal having their way with West Ham. They should score multiple goals just themselves to clear the 2.5, but I do think both team's score. West Ham hasn't been playing well, but Arsenal has allowed a goal in 4 out of their last 6 games.

These are nice odds for what should be a high pace and scoring game. There isn't much value for Arsenal on the moneyline, but they should win this game in easy fashion as well.
