Atlético built a 2-0 aggregate lead in the first leg against this Spanish foe on the road, and now are back home with a comfortable lead. However against Barcelona's attack, is any lead safe? Like I said above, this is the fifth meeting between these clubs during this calendar year. And we've already seen them face off in a very similar situation. Let me explain. In the Copa del Rey, the two went head to head in the Semifinals. Atlético Madrid won the first leg by a score of 4-0, but they were at home. Then, in the second leg, with a substantial aggregate lead, they parked the bus like crazy. But it didn't matter, as Barcelona was able to break through for three goals, which left them just short of advancing.
Today, we have virtually the same spot. This time, Atlético Madrid get to park the bus at home with a two goal aggregate lead. But as we know, it's never quite over. Barcelona will be without center back Pau Cubarsí who drew a red card in the first leg, but again, their attack should be ready to roll per usual.

Let's dissect these lines for a second. Barcelona is priced at -132 to win this match on the road. Now, winning the match doesn't necessarily do anything for them, they'll need to win by two goals just to force extra time. Do they have it in them? The books sort of think so, as they are a decent sized favorite to win this specific match, but Atlético Madrid is still priced at -335 to advance to the next round. Here's where my head is at.
We already saw Barcelona come storming back in the Copa del Rey, almost tying things up on aggregate score in the second leg. This team is not going to go down without a fight, and they could very easily win this thing 2-0, forcing extra time. Because of this, I have also sprinkled on Barcelona to advance to the next round at +234…. just in case.
Despite playing down a man for the entire second half, Barcelona still outshot Atlético 18-5 overall and 7-3 on frame. They had more shots on target than their opponents had in total, plus they won the corner kick battle 7-1 after controlling over 58% of possession. Things just didn't go their way on the scoreboard. This second time around, I think things will be different as Atlético has to deal with the pressure of facing the Barcelona attack with nothing to lose. And it almost didn't work out last time they found themselves in this situation. Give me a Barcelona win by more than two goals, leading to them advancing on penalty kicks.
