NFL Sunday has rolled around again, but that also means we must have some action on the pitch! Ironically enough, the NFL has a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of their NFL London Games, but I am also talking about European football. The EPL has a few matches, including a showdown between Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Aston Villa sit tied for 4th on the EPL table with 13 points through 6 games. They are also doing well in the UEFA Champions League, winning their first two matches, including beating Bayern Munich this week. Villa are playing very good soccer, and will certainly look to keep it going against Manchester United.
United have not been up to par for a while now. They are 2-1-3 on the EPL season, and have drawn twice in their Europa League matches. I have very little faith in Manchester United, especially on the road against an opponent who is in very good form. Let's dive into our best bets of this EPL showdown.

Can Manchester United Figure Out How to Win?

Although Manchester United have beaten Aston Villa in their past 3 meetings, they look like a complete shell of themselves. Against FC Porto this week, they needed a late equalizer from Harry Maguire to save a point after Bruno Fernandes was sent off early in the match. However, the EPL has overturned the referee's decision, so Fernandes is available to play on Sunday.
Regardless, I don't think it matters. Manchester United simply sucks at the moment. They have wins this competition season over Fulham, Southhampton, and Barnsley. That's it. Not very impressive at all. Manchester United haven't won in 4 straight matches, and they face a Villa team that is riding the high of taking down Bayern.
Not only are Villa hosting United, they just took down European giant, Bayern Munich at home in the UCL. That was a huge win for this young club, and I think they ride the momentum of that victory into this match. Even though they didn't necessarily dominate the match, they came away with three points. They know United is struggling, so they've got to pounce early, step on their throats, and strike while the iron is hot.
All of my faith is on Aston Villa in this matchup. They are playing better overall, they are unbeaten in their last seven matches, and I trust them to come fired up to face this Manchester United team and take them down at home.
