RGPS Golden Expedition Heads to Ohio for $200K GTD

The RunGood Poker Series will bring its Golden Expedition to Ohio later this month. The six-day festival runs from September 28 through October 4 at the Lake Erie Poker Room in Elyria.

The stop will feature nine trophy events, giving players several opportunities to compete for RGPS hardware. The schedule also includes satellites, specialty tournaments and multiple starting flights for its headline Main Event.

The $600 Main Event will anchor the festival with a $200,000 guaranteed total prize pool. Five starting flights will run from October 1 through October 3. Players who advance will return for the Day 2 finale on October 4.

RGPS Golden Expedition Opens With Several Ring Events

The Ohio festival begins on September 28 with several tournaments and qualifying opportunities. The opening schedule features a $300 Seniors NLH Ring Event and a $300 Omaha 8 Ring Event.

Players can also enter a $300 Ultimate Package Satellite that evening. RunGood guarantees five packages in the satellite, with each package offering entry to several festival events.

Each package includes a $600 Main Event seat, a $400 PokerNews PowerStack seat and a $200 One-Day Ring Event seat. Players also receive $50 in cash.

The schedule continues with a $200 One Day NLH Ring Event and a $300 Tag Team Ring Event on September 29. The $400 PokerNews PowerStack then takes center stage on September 30.

The PowerStack carries a $30,000 guaranteed total prize pool across its two starting flights. Its Day 2 finale follows on October 1.

Additional satellites will run during the festival, including daily on-demand $100 Flip & Go satellites. RunGood also lists $140 Main Event satellites among the qualifying options.

$600 Main Event Leads the Ohio Festival

Attention will then shift toward the $600 Main Event on October 1. Flight A begins at 3:15 p.m., while four additional flights follow over the next two days.

The five flights share a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players who survive their respective starting flights will return for Day 2 on October 4.

RunGood will also offer $140 Main Event satellites throughout the festival. Therefore, players will have additional routes into the headline tournament.

The $600 buy-in also gives the Ohio stop a distinct accessibility angle. It sits below the $1,000 Main Event buy-in used during RGPS's previous Ohio visit.

RGPS Returns to Ohio After 2024 Cleveland Stop

The Golden Expedition marks another RGPS visit to Ohio after the series last visited the state in 2024. That previous stop took place at the RGPS RunGood Resort Cleveland festival.

Its $1,000 Main Event attracted 223 entries and created a $474,962 prize pool. Dane Miller ultimately defeated Thomas Gray heads-up for the title and collected $98,607.

The upcoming event lowers the Main Event buy-in to $600. That difference could make the tournament more accessible to mid-stakes live players seeking a major guaranteed event.

Meanwhile, the festival provides several other buy-in levels and formats. Players who usually follow US online poker sites can also track the live action through PokerNews coverage.

PokerNews will provide live reporting from the Main Event throughout the Ohio stop. RunGood also lists the festival as part of its 2026 Golden Expedition schedule.

The Lake Erie Poker Room will host the series from September 28 through October 4. The Main Event will headline the final stretch before the festival concludes on October 4.
