I cannot believe my eyes. Why is Shea Theordore SOG prop just discounted? Is it a landmine, because if it is I'm going to walk right over it. Especially because this prop that sells itself purely on one number: 28:55. That's Shea Theodore's average ice time per game in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final, almost 3½ minutes more than any other skater in the series. When a defenseman is logging nearly 29 minutes a night against the best defensive team left in the playoffs, he is finding the puck constantly, activating from the blue line repeatedly, and firing shots at a rate that makes over 1.5 look like a minimum, not a ceiling. Theodore over 1.5 shots on goal in Game 5 is one of the cleanest volume props in a tied series — here's exactly why it's an NHL best bet tonight.

Shea Theodore goal at +600 is worth a sprinkle

The shot prop case doesn't depend on Theodore having an outlier game — it depends on him doing what he's done in four straight games: playing heavy minutes and putting pucks on net. His eight shots on goal through four games sneak into the top 10 for the entire series. That's two per game, on the nose, maintained across four very different game scripts — a high-event Game 1 comeback win, a tighter Game 2, the wild double-overtime thriller of Game 3, and a Game 4 loss. Two SOG per game regardless of the situation is exactly what you want to see from a player whose prop line sits at 1.5. He's been clearing it every night.

What makes the underlying numbers even more impressive is the gap between his shot attempts and his shots on goal. Nearly six attempts per game converting to two SOG means Carolina is doing its job of blocking shots and forcing perimeter looks — but Theodore keeps firing anyway. He's not going quiet when the defensive structure tightens. He's generating volume and trusting the shot to find a lane eventually. That approach makes him consistent for this prop regardless of how the game script develops. Vegas needs a win, and you gotta score to win. Guess what, you gotta shoot to score. Add it all up and it's clear why Theodore's 1.5 SOG prop is an NHL best bet tonight.

2. Jordan Staal o2.5 SOG at +180 on Lucky Rebel:

Jordan Staal is the star of the Stanley Cup Finals we didn't know we needed. The long time captain of the Carolina Hurricanes has been putting his team on his back with an EPIC performance for a 37 year old veteran. And he will continue to make his push for the Conn Smythe (MVP of the playoff) with another big game tonight. Staal now has a goal in every game of this series, with 5 total goals. And they have been VERY timely.

Staal goal at +370 is worth a sprinkle as well

While Staal has only hit his 2.5 SOG prop in 5 games this entire postseason, three of those games have come against Vegas. In fact, Staal's large frame and two-way play has been a huge factor of why Carolina has been able to keep up with Vegas's big bodied forward and defensive cores. And perhaps that is why we have seen him taking more shots, especially around the net. He is averaging 4.3 shot attempts a game against Vegas. And while we typically want this number to be higher for a 2.5 SOG prop, his last two games of 11 total attempts is exactly what we are looking for an NHL best bet tonight.

Now, at nearly 2x our bet, I think this bet is worth the risk. Staal seems to have cracked the code of how to beat Carter Hart. And that's off greasy rebounds and pounding pucks in close to the net, which allows him to get more attempts. You could always take his point at +125 for a "safer" bet, but if Jordan Staal is getting on the score sheet, you have to think it will be from his knack at whacking pucks in close, and that's why this is an NHL best bet tonight.

3. Mark Stone Point -135 on Lucky Rebel:

Mark Stone does not have a single assist in this series. This is a player who had 45 assists in 60 regular season games. This is absurd for a playmaker of his caliber. And while I love his assist tonight for the plus money value, the fact that we can get his point at a bettable number makes me smash that bet as an NHL best bet.

Stone had 73 points — 28 goals and 45 assists — in 60 regular-season games, matching a career high in points while playing 22 fewer games than a full season. That's a 1.22 points-per-game pace, an elite rate for any forward at any age. The 34-year-old winger has not diminished — he's been operating at the peak of his offensive capability when available.

Stone's point at +150 is worth a look as well

Beyond this season, Stone's career playoff body of work is among the most elite of any active NHL player, and his Cup Final performances specifically carry a pattern that bettors should be aware of.

In 123 career postseason games, Stone has 95 points — 46 goals and 49 assists. His best playoff run came in 2023 when he had 24 points in 22 games en route to helping the Golden Knights win the Cup. A career postseason points-per-game rate of 0.77 over 123 games is genuinely elite — it's not a product of a single good run, it's sustained excellence over the full arc of a playoff career.

Stone is tied for the NHL lead in power-play goals this postseason with four. He is the man Mitch Marner finds in the high slot on Vegas's power play, operating as the primary shooting threat on a unit that has been lethal all season. Marner sets up Stone nicely on the power play — Stone scores off a one-timer shot, firing off a pass without stopping the puck. That combination has been one of the most dangerous power play sequences in the entire postseason. And that is why we are leaning into his point as an NHL best bet tonight.
