A sweep is just what we needed and was exactly what we did here at Betting News on Tuesday! We have another big NHL slate with plenty of crucial games, and even some top prospects joining their NHL teams looking to impress. There is so many sneaky plus money props too, that I have to highlight three of my favorites. Let's end the season strong, starting today and pump up our 45-48 record on the articles, that has tons of plus money value by finding some of the best NHL bets tonight.

We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all playoffs long! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.

And if you haven't already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets of the day.

1.  Claude Giroux Point +135 on Lucky Rebel:

Claude Giroux and Darcy Kuemper

Senators forward Claude Giroux tries to screen Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper.

Some players will never stop hating their rivals, even when they move teams. And Claude Giroux will always hate the Pittsburgh Penguins, due to the majority of his career being with the Philadelphia Flyers. Not only has Giroux continue his domination of the Penguins since being moved from the Flyers many seasons ago, this game is pivotal for both the Penguins and Senators playoff chances.

In his last 11 games against the Penguins, Giroux has 14 points and a point in 9 of those games. In his 72 career games against the Penguins, Giroux has put up 23 goals and 55 assists. Yep, the guy just hates black and yellow. It doesn't hurt that he is playing on the top line with Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson, who are the Senators leading scorers. What more could you ask for for this NHL best bet?

Well how about the Penguins becoming leaky, and having to win games by racing opponents to the finish line. As recently as March 3rd, the Penguins were sitting sixth in the NHL with 2.78 goals against per game. In the last 11 games, that's gone out the window — Pittsburgh sits 31st over the last three weeks with an average of 4.17 goals allowed per game, giving up six or more goals six times.Over their past 10 games, the Penguins have allowed 42 goals in all situations — the second-worst mark in the NHL over that stretch — including eight games where they've allowed at least four goals and five games where they've allowed at least five. Add it all up and it is easy to see why Giroux point is an NHL best bet tonight.

2. Brock Boeser o2.5 SOG +140 on Lucky Rebel:

Brock Boeser plays very well against the Kings

Boeser plays incredibly well historically against Kings

Brock Boeser may be playing on the NHL's worst team, but his shot volume hasn't suffered. And tonight against the Los Angeles Kings, there's a compelling case that he eclipses the 2.5 shots on goal line with room to spare.

Boeser has averaged 2.41 shots on goal per game this season — essentially right at the line — but that season-long number actually understates his recent activity. He's accumulated 140 shots on net through 63 appearances, making him one of the higher-volume shooters on the Canucks roster in a top-six role all season. And critically, his March has been his best stretch in months — Boeser ended a four-game goal drought Tuesday and has racked up five goals and six assists for the month. A confident, engaged Boeser shoots more. The recent form is pointing up.

Over his last three games, Boeser has averaged 3 shots on goal per game — well clear of the 2.5 line. That's the momentum number that matters most for tonight's prop. And while this recent form at plus money makes this one of the NHL best bets tonight, it is his dominance against the Los Angeles Kings that puts it over the top. Boeser has hit his 2.5 SOG line in 8 of the last 12 meetings against the Kings. He averages 4.3 shot attempts in those games, with many games at 5+ shot attempts. This is one of his favorite targets and tonight should be no different.

3. Matthew Savoie Point -110 on Lucky Rebel:

Matthew Savoie gets to play with the best player in the world

Matthew Savoie gets to play with the best player in the world

If you give me the best player in the world's linemate at near even money for a point, then I will take it. Since Leon Draisaitl has been out with injury, the Edmonton Oilers have been putting some of their younger players on a line with Connor McDavid. And the top prospect Matthew Savoie has been running (er skating?) away with this opportunity. Since Savoie has been elevated onto the first line alongside Connor McDavid he has three points in five games, and now will continue in that role heading into tonight's matchup against Vegas.

Tonight's opponent isn't a pushover, but they're not impenetrable either. The Golden Knights rank 20th in the league in goals against this season, a middling defensive team that has been inconsistent down the stretch — they just dropped a 4-1 decision to the Winnipeg Jets most recently. In a high-stakes Pacific Division clash where Edmonton holds a one-point lead over Vegas for second in the division, both teams will be pushing hard offensively. That competitive urgency tends to open up the ice and create the kind of transition hockey where McDavid — and by extension Savoie — does maximum damage.

It gets better. With Draisaitl out, Savoie has been given time on Edmonton's top power play unit — the best in the NHL this season, converting at 31.0 percent. NHL That's extraordinary. The Oilers' power play is essentially a scoring machine, and Savoie now has a seat at the table. Even a secondary role on a unit that clicks at 31% gives him a legitimate path to a point every single night. A power play opportunity tonight against Vegas is nearly a guaranteed scoring chance — and Savoie is the one positioned to capitalize. Add this all up and it's easy to see why Matthew Savoie point looks like an NHL best bet tonight.
