College Football may be in the middle of the offseason, but with the new age of NIL, things are never completely silent. We have kids hitting the transfer portal and switching schools, along with coaches doing the same thing as everyone chases the highest paycheck for next year. However, Monday morning some news hit the NCAA Football world that not many were expecting.
Former Bearcat, Sorsby Headed to Rehab for Sports Gambling

Brendan Sorsby, the former quarterback for the Cincinnati Bearcats, was pretty much the top player in the NCAA Football transfer portal this offseason. He chose to take his talents to Lubbock, Texas, and was planning on being Behren Morton's successor following the Red Raiders' Big 12 Championship and trip to the College Football Playoff.
However, on Monday the school announced that Sorsby was checking into a residential treatment program for his gambling addiction. He is currently under investigation from the NCAA due to his gambling, as the organization prohibits athletes from betting on both college and professional sports.
According to unnamed sources, Sorsby was betting on Indiana football as a member of the Hoosiers in 2022, but none were placed on games where he appeared on the field. He also placed several live bets on MLB games, particularly in the market of "next pitch result". The NCAA declined to comment on the situation, however Sorsby was slated to be one of the highest paid players in college football next season. He was in line to make more than $5 million playing for the Red Raiders.
