Charles Huff takes over as the head coach of the Memphis Tigers. They are projected to be a top team in the American, and he has been able to turn teams around quickly. However, he's facing a guy in Dan Mullen with tons of head coaching experience, and more talented quarterbacks.

But we have to discuss this line movement. Obviously, like our other Week 0 games, lines have been posted for a while. The Rebels opened up laying just a flat field goal, but that number didn't last long. In fact, it steamed up to 5.5 at most books last week, with some even hanging a 6.5 in favor of the hosts. Since then, there has been some buy back, and now the line sits at 4.5 pretty much everywhere.

Memphis vs. UNLV Prediction: Rebels Win and Cover, Over 56

Best Bet: UNLV -4.5 (-105) BetOnline

While the Tigers are going to be towards the top of their conference, so are the Rebels, and they arguably play in a much tougher league. Plus, Memphis is rocking a new head coach and plenty of new players, while UNLV is beginning the second year of the Mullen Era. I will gladly back the Rebels, and I actually did so at the 5.5 number before it moved back down. I've made my bed, so I need the hosts by six. So be it, I think they win by a touchdown.

I saw an incredible stat about Mullen. This will be his 15th season as a college head coach. In season openers, this guy is 12-2 straight up, and 8-6 against the spread. That's good for an 86% win rate on the ML, and a 57% hit rate ATS. I will confidently lay the points with the Rebs, and I also have them in a moneyline parlay as well. If there is one Week 0 bet I urge you to tail, it's this one.

UNLV has indicated they will play both Jackson Arnold and Alex Orji, both former five star, Power Four quarterbacks, who spent time at Oklahoma, Auburn, and Michigan. They are the more talented side, at home, with a better coach. Lay the points with the Rebels and earn some coin to end Week 0.
