Last season, the Baylor Bears hosted the Auburn Tigers in Waco, and unfortunately is was an invitation to beat them down, as the SEC representative won 38-24 in a shootout. Now the two will be playing at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta to start the year, and in my opinion, I think it could be one sided. Dave Aranda's seat couldn't be hotter, and I'm not sure DJ Lagway is the guy to save his job. But can they some find a way to get revenge on the Tigers with Auburn's new personnel? Find out with our expert picks.

NCAA Football Expert Insights: Baylor vs. Auburn

Dave Aranda might be coaching his last season for the Baylor Bears
Auburn is a brand new team. There is a new era with Alex Golesh as head coach of the Tigers. He is bringing the band into the locker room to teach the players the fight song and building chemistry with the students. It's incredible, and I think it's bringing a winning culture back to this program. I really like Byrum Brown, I think he will excel this season despite the Tigers tough schedule. He threw for over 3,000 yards last year, added another 1,000 on the ground, and totaled 42 touchdowns with just seven picks. Plus I am very low on the Bears.
Baylor is probably going to be one of the worst teams in the Big 12 this season. Dave Aranda is likely coaching his last year in Waco, and are we really trusting DJ Lagway after two more than mediocre years at Florida? In fact, Lagway lost to Brown and Golesh at South Florida last season. Golesh held Lagway to just 222 passing yards and one touchdown with an interception as well.
I think the defense will get to him this weekend.

Alex Golesh is 23-15 as a head coach, and 2-0 in the postseason. Will that success continue at Auburn?

Although the best line for the Tigers is laying the touchdown and a half, this is an instance where I am not scared of the hook. I think Auburn wins this game by double digits, and I will be confidently laying the points with them to do so in Atlanta this Saturday.
There is no reason to be excited about this Bears' football team. The defense is meh, the offense is bleh, and overall, they will benefit from an easy conference schedule. This is not going to be an easy game. Golesh is setting the tone, not just for the season, but for his Power Four coaching career. Look for him to start it off with a bang, running up the score, covering for his boosters who are making the trip to Atlanta.
While Auburn's defense isn't that exciting either, they do boast a top 15 linebacking unit in the country, thanks to returning All-SEC junior Xavier Atkins. Look for the Tigers to be the better team on both sides of the ball, resulting in an easy win here. I also endorse Auburn's Team Total over 33.5, but they are asking for -125. I'd rather back them to cover the spread, as I think Golesh really steps on the throat of his enemy this weekend.
